And why would that be ? Practically nobody seems to rate him except as a prospect for 1-2 years time. His stats are pretty awful too.

You tell me... you seem to know a bit about him. I just added something to the Other Clubs Transfer stuff. So you reckon he is a bit of a prospect do ya?? City in for him at 30m while we flap about with one season wonders at 60/70m that we cant/wont sign. So maybe you know nothing. Dont worry though Froggy, we are nearly signing lots of players. Should keep you happy.

Then you tell us why you are so excited at City signing a player that has not shown anything in Spain .. and is which is probably why he's being offloaded. All whilst having a dig at LFC. I'm pretty happy with our business so far this Summer (Salah, Solanke, Robertson), slowly filling gaps and deepening the squad depth. 6 weeks still to go and really only two slots to fill, I'm confident one way or another we will. So probably it's you who knows nothing.

See i knew you must have worked it all out. That's it, i am thrilled City are buying a defender (prospect) . Actually i am thrilled all the clubs around us are getting stuck in whilst you are pleased with our imaginary business. Really happy for you Frogman.

Yeah. I'm truly imagining the three players we have bought so far. Dolt.

Raz point is quite fucking obvious right? Why are people being snide about it?

We have been fucking around with UNSIGNABLE players like Keita and VVD upping our bid by a fiver a week ultimately to fuck it up and go to plan F and sign Scott Sinclair and Ben Gibson

MEANWHILE City, United, Arsenal and Chelse have brought in (with literally ZERO fuss)
Kolasinic
Lacazette
Rudiger
Bakayoko
Morata
Lukaku
Silva
Edison
Walker
Danilo
Lindelof
For about 500m

We STILL need a LB, a CB, a DM and a CF and probably a GK and a CM

I get the worry, and I'm getting niggling feelings about it all.

If we get to August and we're no closer, I'll worry and start getting pissed off

I moved this out to its own thread.

The season starts in 3 weeks time, whether its clever to continue waiting on two deals to happen whilst all the alternatives get snapped up is a very valid concern.

Quite the post.
All the thought went into that one.

Well, it seems not much thought went into yours.
We're not gonna sign a GK. And we probably wont sign CF either, unless Studge leaves.

Chelsea are having a hard time getting their targets. Conte has been pissed off. They finally agreed something for Bakayoko and Morata just now.

Arsenal have made a free transfer signing and Lacazette.

Spurs have bought none so far. 0.

City have bought 3 players and are about to buy another right back for 30 mill for some reason aswell. Who didnt look particuarly good for Real Madrid.

This is from Mourinho yesterday. Minimum fuss? All rosy and shiny? Even he is saying its a difficult window.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho admits he is not happy with the club’s performance in the summer transfer window so far, despite signing Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof.
The Red Devils have only managed to land two of four top targets, according to Mourinho, who concedes it is a difficult market to operate in at the moment.

Still, the Portuguese is hoping to bring at least one more player in, with reports linking the club with Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic and Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.
It remains to be seen which is the more realistic target for United, but Mourinho clearly won’t be satisfied with how his side have done unless they bring in one more player in the midfield area.
‘We always want more,’ Mourinho told ESPN. ‘We always feel there is room to improve, and I cannot say that I am happy with our transfer window.
‘What I can also say is that it is a difficult transfer window and I don’t blame anyone – it is just a reality of things. The market is going in such a direction that many players are difficult to get, not to say impossible.
‘Every club is powerful and they don’t want to sell or their demands are really high, so the market is difficult.
‘What I will say is that, a long time ago, we thought about four players to strengthen our squad, but it is really hard to do it. If we do the third and forget the fourth, I would be quite happy with that because I know it is difficult.’

Now, Robertson is due for a medical today. So the LB can be crossed of the list.

We all knew that getting a deal done for these two players would be difficult, Keita and VVD.
But I'm more than happy to get our targets late in the window, then not getting them and moving on to someone of lesser quality.
It comes a time when you have to move on, but I dont think that we've come to that point yet.
If the next rumoured bid for Keita is rejected, then we should move one.
If VVD doesnt hand in a transfer request and kicks up a fuss (as rumoured yesterday), then we might have to move on soon from that aswell.

But Klopp seems adament that he wants those two, and seeing as we're not currently looking at other alternatives (actively), then we must be getting some encouragement in regards to getting a deal done.

All I'm saying is that, yes, it would have been nice to have all these deals in place but its the 20th July. Its not the time to panic or throw a hissy fit just yet compared to other clubs transfer business.

If we start with the players we got now against Watford, it wont be the end of the world either. We havent lost a single player, that we didnt want to lose, and we've signed Salah, Solanke and soon Robertson.

But if we come to the 1st of September and the squad looks the same. Then yes, all hell should break out. I agree.

I'm not sure I get the constant need to justify everything the club does. It is possible to support the club and think we're dickheads when it comes to transfers. We are pretty shit at it.

I'm more on the side of the "it's a difficult market" argument and yeah, there is still time as well... but... BUT... we have priors.

To dismiss concerns so easily given our history (or even present, see: the VVD debacle) seems silly.

We went all in for a Sanchez a few summers ago and ended up with a Balotelli.

Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.

It's just the usual bellwhifs mate that like to have a pop at a select few because they consider themselves worthy and looking for extra brownie points. The rose tinted twats.

It's not been a wonderful transfer window so far, admittedly. But while you and Raz have a point, I think the proper meltdown - should it be appropriate - can wait until the window is closed and we can assess all the comings and goings.

I don't have any confidence that we will sign VDV and Keita, and I do worry that we are not going to get quality players in for the obvious positions we are lacking: a striker, CB, DM, but there is still time.

What is a concern is that Klopp might fuck up again, by not having a Plan B for either VDV or Keita, as if they are the only two fucking players in the world.

I'm resigned to him fucking up by not signing a striker, but if we end up with nothing more this summer, we are fucked.

Same cunts last season crowing about how we didn't need a quality striker because we were "top scorers" and top of the league at Xmas.

As usual, they ended up looking ridiculous and wrong.

I've no problem waiting for our targets but there needs to be a cut off date to give us time to them move onto our next options in those positions. Going all the way until the end of august is just plain stupid.

I think the VVD deal is 50/50, but we'll get Keita. We wouldn't be persisting if there wasn't a deal to be done.

Agreed.

I know Klopp seems to have a philosophy of top targets or nobody, which is admirable in a way, but we surely should have alternatives scouted who are not very far behind the ability levels of the first choice. Not every second target has to be Jermain fucking Pennant. Assuming Sakho is off we need a centre back badly. Matip and Lovren are prone to picking up small injuries and Klavan is Klavan. Surely a scouting network should be able to look beyond VVD. There's more than one good centre back out there.

I'm pretty sure we're already in contact with other targets and clubs, but I dont think we're there yet regarding giving up on our first choice targets.
