I don't think it's fair in the first place TBH. Tottenham notwithstanding, we've played some nice stuff at times this season and Downing's been an important part of it.

Along with Suarez, he has looked the biggest threat. I see the lad getting stronger as the season progresses

But its more than just that, he may not supply the killer pass for the direct assist, but he's instrumental in the build up.

The goals and assists will come, but its not like he's been a bit of a passenger like hendo thus far
 
TBF he's been just shy of a wonder goal and another was kept out by a great save.

People are makign it sound like he casually saunters around the pitch

Kenny is weird.

Kuyt and Maxi were fantastic whilst Kenny was in charge last season; this season he'd rather pick henderson who's been hit and miss and others ahead of them.

if I could be asked I would list the amount of clear cut chances henderson has created, I bet with the exception of suarez no one has created more. as for carroll the guy needs games.

How are they going to settle in if they don't get selected though? If Kenny sees them as the future he has to pick them for a reasonable number of games.
