Thing is, he scored a decent one against exeter

I reckon its because we're not playing to his strengths. TBH i think he's wasted as the spear head. He should be a striker who comes from deep when he can have some space for a little run and then just fucking barge people out the way to get to the box, or rifle one in. Hes not a poacher

Carroll needs to play from that start in my opinion.

No better game to restore his own faith in himself than against Wolves at home. That's why I'd play him nothing to do with him actually earning the spot. He's a striker and he needs to believe in himself.

Henderson did a splendid job in a similiar tie against Sunderland. He needs confidence as well hence I'd pick him as well.

Bellers and Kuty will be supersubs.

i can understand that, and i think spearing is shite. He offers more dynamism than adam, even though its distinctly average dynamism. Adam just isn't mobile enough in that position

our set pieces pieces will improve.
adam can pick out runners in wide areas.
I haven't been impressed by spearing at all, I think adam is much better and I'm not even an adam fan.

The other two have been rubbish and walked all over by any midfield that's put up a fight.

A few things. The timing of the League Cup game came in rather handy so that Skrtel and Adam could serve their suspensions because both will be needed this weekend. It's rather far fetched to think that the Captain is ready to start a Premier league game having played 16 minutes vs Brighton after 6 months out.

I like Andy Carroll and want him to do well however I want Liverpool to do well more. He needs to earn his place in the team and, at the moment, that means getting past Suarez and Bellamy. It didn't surprise me to see these two hit it off on Wednesday because they both possess exceptional football brains and are on the same wavelength. It's marvelous to have "Our Craig" back again.

i think jonjo should play, but gerrard isn't ready yet imo. Lucas and shelvey could work. Jonjo puts himself about quite well and can pick a pass. certainly worth a go one day

ross, have you ever seen jono play as a holding midfielder before? I ask because with gerrard spending a lot of time up field the responsible to break up attacks will fall to his (gerrard) partner.
