United are playing well and have lots of quality players.

If we play like we have in the last four or five games we are going to lose badly

Calm down, yes if we play like we have been we will lose, but not badly, it'll take a full team meltdown for United to put 3 or 4 past us, we still managed to beat City despite playing underpar. If we play to potential we should win this, however we are playing no where near that level at the moment, and United rightfully go into this game as favourites, we need a massive raise in our play, hopefully the returning Coutinho and Henderson will be a catalyst for that, I reckon it'll be a frustrating 1-1 though.

Every time we play them as favourites, which was often under LVG, and also the case earlier this season, they've done us, so hopefully we can reverse that

I'm honestly not sure what the cunt will do tbh. Normally I'd be sure he'd play his anti football tactics & try to nick a goal.

However our form of late, their recent form, & the season long trend where we've so often taken twenty minutes to get into our stride may well see him trying to start quickly & unsettle us with a quick goal.

Either way I think they'll be spending an hour or so of the match sitting back, it's just when they opt to attack, from the start or just reliant on counter attacking & set pieces, that is the question.

I'm more curious about us in all honesty.
We didnt turn up at all on Wednesday. I expect a reaction from both Klopp and the players. Not one of those players out there should look anything other than "win at all costs".

Utd can dominate us but we can also hurt them if we turn up.
Mourinho definetly doesnt want to lose this game, so it will be interesting to see how attacking minded they are.

I'd take a draw if it was offered to me now. Easily.

I get why, I really do, but I think we'll have enough to beat them.

I suspect we'll play very much like we did against city, staying compact & using counter attacking as opposed to pushing possession up the field in short passing & numbers. We did so well in that match & did so without being forced back continually as many teams do, & if we frustrate Utd at home for half an hour the pressure will begin to tell, leading to opportunities.

Actually, thinking about it, if we do that it would negate some of their strengths.

It means whether they want to or not Utd can't 'park the bus' as Mourinho so often does, & play that effective counter attacking style against us. That in turn means they'll push out & give us more space than normal.

The fact that we are capable of scoring freely when we attack means they can't simply bomb on though, so they'll end up stretched, again giving us more room to play.

However the big problem with it is that games where both sides initially try to stay compact usually hinge on the midfield battle, so if we don't have Henderson we'll be overrun in the middle of the park & end up pushed back into our own box continually, which isn't what we want at all against Utd.

Who's the ref for this one? Cannot be one who has done us any favours because Moanrihno hasn't been mithering on about it. We're long overdue a favourable ref.

Philippe Coutinho, Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip trained on Thursday to put themselves in contention for the weekend trip to Manchester United, Jürgen Klopp has revealed.

But the Liverpool boss insists the trio's fitness, and that of the players who featured in the midweek EFL Cup defeat to Southampton, must be assessed before any decisions are made on a starting XI for Old Trafford.
Coutinho made his first appearance since November at St Mary's on Wednesday, replacing Georginio Wijnaldum with half an hour remaining and showing no ill effects from his lengthy absence through an ankle injury.
Matip (ankle) and Henderson (heel) were not included in the squad on the south coast, but are back out on the pitches at Melwood with a view to being involved against United.
In his press conference to preview the heavyweight Premier League clash, Klopp said: "They all were in training yesterday, so [we have] to wait on how they reacted to the training yesterday then we have to make decisions.
"The last game was only two days ago and so we have to wait for the reaction of those players, too, and then we make a line-up.
"But of course they are much closer than they were before any other game in the last few weeks, so that's good."

Having Matip back would be a massive boost, it's been quite a while since he last played though.

Fuck the ref.... more important when United play is who are the linesmen??

Means jack, but I have a good feeling about this one.
I'm also a Cavs fan and I feel like their hiccups this season have pretty much happened the same day or the day before LFC plays. The Cavs won yesterday so it might be a good sign.

One thing which I noticed soon after Jürgen Klopp arrived, and which continues to this day AFAIC, is that the confidence I remember from years ago as a Liverpool supporter is slowly but surely coming back. No matter whom we're playing, no matter the relative form of the two teams going into the fixture, I know for a certain fact that we're in with a chance and that the other lot will have a game on their hands. This time is no exception. Bring it on. 😎

I'd genuinely never heard of him before he bought into us. Still no idea what he looks like. Probably tall.
I'd heard his name in some us shows, but always thought it was lebraun. I also have no idea what he looks like.

The only basketball I've ever enjoyed was NBA Jam on the megadrive.
