Balotelli has looked alright, and Studge has worked as hard as I've seen him in a red shirt, he's been ace. This Spurs side is a different proposition than last year's vintage, and the fact that we're shading this at their patch is a credit to us. A little better communication at the back and fingers crossed we'll see this out.

To be fair we could still have had 2 or 3 in that half, unfortunately all he chances fell to Mario who has just not looked sharp, I still reckon he will get one today though. Encouraging link up play between him and Sturridge.

Yes, those stats bemused me, but watching him today made them a bit clearer. He completes them okay, but he passes to the poor bastard who is in the worst possible position to hold on to the ball.

I tried to say that during a match last season and got battered by a few people telling me I'm talking shit. He also rattles the ball at teammates frequently, requiring a top class first time layoff or touch to keep possession.

I noticed that too, he's constantly putting players under pressure with his passing.

He's not inspired confidence, but he was solid at the world cup.

He just needs to get fit and get used to his partner

well france must do something different cause he's never looked too solid for us .

Sakho is excellent in moving and playing a high line with Lovren as Skrtel sits back and doesn't listen to Lovren. However, Sakho looks nervous. Maybe it's due to it being his first game in a while, but needs to improve this second half.

C'mon boys!!! YNWA

And the way he pings them at a totally inappropriate pace. Always a telltale sign of a poor passer.

Grrr. Problems in defence for another season I fear.

Hope we score another quickly, then maybe switch down to 4-5-1 to put another body into the midfield. Balotelli has tracked back to help at times but still feel we seem to be over-matched there when they attack because of their pace and mobility and Gerrard's lack of it.

Not watching the game but I'm delighted to hear the 2 fullbacks are playing well. However I'm very disappointed in what I'm hearing about the centre backs especially Sakho.
