Agree, some classics, normally based on a moment of lucid stupity by a poster, continue to mature with age - the other examples, however, are boring, repititive, unimaginative crap, that might just possibly have raised an ironic smile the first time, but do nothing other than induce a coma on the 3,743,551st repitition. That one has a basis in a genuinely funny moment though.
Saying we should sign VVDs replacement, or hire the Southampton scouts, has become an even worse & more boring joke than ones about £40M + £1 every time an Arsenal transfer is discussed
That's the kind of thing than both Sterling and Raheem would agree with.
Erm. That'd never happen. We should wait until the season starts, to see whether or not he is named in their squad. When he isn't, that will be an opportune moment to put in an insultingly low bid for him.

By January he could have been reintegrated and he is on a 6 yr fixed contract.Southampton have well and truly boxed themselves in by the way they've handled this and I agree that we should look to turn that to our advantage, but we also need to be a little canny about it in case we pitch our offer so low that it becomes an offer they decide they have to refuse. I'd go in at £40 mill, which is hardly chickenfeed, and be willing to move a little bit from that (though not to £50 mill, which AFAIC they can now whistle for). If they say no, I'd be back in January for half the amount we offer now.
I think we need to be careful, if we lowball, Barca may do the same to us with Coutinho.Southampton have well and truly boxed themselves in by the way they've handled this and I agree that we should look to turn that to our advantage, but we also need to be a little canny about it in case we pitch our offer so low that it becomes an offer they decide they have to refuse. Also depends on what it promised him when signing him from Celtic. He's got 5 years left on his contract they are under no pressure to sale whatsoever. They've been in this situation many times and have always come out winning so i'm not expecting Southampton to sell him this season at all. Plus we can't go in with any offer until Southampton come to us first and say they are willing to sell.
Well he only signed a extension last year with no release clause so he doesn't have a leg to stand on.Also depends on what it promised him when signing him from Celtic.
That's the narrative from Southampton and it doesn't just add up for me. Why he is her throwing a wobble, then, if it was all rosy?Well he only signed a extension last year with no release clause so he doesn't have a leg to stand on.
Because Klopp tapped him up and wants to get a nice bumper pay rise and play in the champions league. That's the narrative from Southampton and it doesn't just add up for me. Why he is her throwing a wobble, then, if it was all rosy?
Expecting Magic Mike Edwards to go on holiday at any minute.
It's just too obvious an explanation-- something is missing. You may be right, of course but as the Torres and Mascherano cases have shown, things are not always what the clubs would have us believe.Because Klopp tapped him up and wants to get a nice bumper pay rise and play in the champions league.
I do think if its going to happen, it needs to be soon. The Times saying Chelsea will bid 50 mill for him. Maybe thats the opening bid we need.
Southampton can still tell us to fuck off while accepting Chelsea's bid.
VVD also has a say in this you know. If we match Chelsea's bid. They can't force him to go to CFC just as he's not able to force a move without their acquiescence. I'm not sure CFC are in the City/United bracket any more as far as salaries or transfer fees are concerned so don't see any advantage there.Southampton can still tell us to fuck off while accepting Chelsea's bid.
Chelsea have Rudiger, Stones, sideshow bob and Azpilicueta at the back, so they want 5 first choice CB's do they?
