Liverpool FC will embark on a money-spinning tour of America this summer after signing up to the 2014 International Champions Cup.

The eight-team pre-season tournament will also include Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Roma, Inter Milan and Olympiacos.

Matches will be played from July 26 to August 4 across a dozen US cities.

Official confirmation is expected on Tuesday when the International Champions Cup is launched in Miami.

The clubs will be divided into two groups with reports in America suggesting the Reds will face Olympiacos (Chicago), AC Milan (Philadelphia) and Manchester City (Charlotte).

The top two in each group will then progress to the semi-finals which will be held, along with the final and third/fourth place play-off, at Miami's 76,000-capacity Sun Life Stadium.

Liverpool's training camp will be based in Boston – the home city of owners Fenway Sports Group.

The Reds enjoyed a successful trip to Massachusetts in the summer of 2012 when Brendan Rodgers' squad used the top class facilities at Harvard University.

I look forward to our 2015 Asian Tour. 🙂

Let's do it! Who's coming over for the us tour? Gene is offering up his duplex for y'all.

This is just 2 weeks after the World Cup. Quite a lot of stars will be missing I guess, though the England players might still be available as they'll likely be returning earlier than the rest.

I always wondered why we don't get involved in these kind of pre-season tournaments instead of playing no mark teams in Switzerland.

I know they're exhibition matches but will still surely represent better practice.

I'm down for coming in to Philly from Boston.
Saw AC Milan play Inter at the Gillette stadium a few years back. Utter wank game though.

Yeah the games are horrible. Saw us play Celtic in Hartford in 2005, definitely preseason but fun nonetheless.

I saw Madrid (Zidane, Figo, Raul etc) vs Roma (Totti etc) at Giants Stadium a few years back ... full stadium with the majority being foreigners ... Unreal atmosphere, and not a bad game either.

DON'T BOOK NOTHING YET

Ian Ayre is at this moment on the train with well known lads Tage, Cav etc and has told them Liverpool are not playing in that tournament and Man Utd have already pulled out, we are playing a one off match at Fenway Park only in the USA.

Not sure how genuine it is but bad news for U.S. reds if true
