Right a few more 2 year olds to follow:
A bit more detail for you to get your teeth in than normal as i was bored at work today so did some homework.
ALHAQUE (12/3 b c Galileo(IRE) (11.0f) - Safeen(USA) (Storm Cat(USA)(7.5f))
Trainer: Peter Chapple-Hyam Owner: Saleh Al Homaizi & Imad Al Sagar Breeder: Runnymede Farm Inc Et Al
2nd foal, half-brother to Fanfest, placed in dirt & turf sprints at 3 in US; dam unraced, half-sister to Revere, a prolific 1m-11f winner at home/Italy, & Zafonium, smart over 12f at 3, out of Bint Pasha, winner of Yorkshire Oaks
($600,000) It has been a slow season for Peter Chapple-Hyam, but his horses are starting to run into a bit of form and that is good news as this colt has been limbering up very nicely at home. He has always been regarded as one of the better juveniles and his most recent work suggests he could be a horse of serious potential both this year and next.
HIGHLAND GLEN (25/1 b c Montjeu(IRE) (11.6f) - Daring Aim (Daylami (IRE)(10.9f))
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute Owner: The Queen Breeder: The Queen
first foal; dam a 12f winner at three; half sister to Flight Of Fancy, 7f winner at 2 & placed in Oaks, and Well Hidden & Hypoteneus, 12f winner at 3, half-sister to Daring Aim, 12f winner at 3, & Desert Star, 7f winner at 2; dam top-class 12-13f winner at 3-4, sister to smart Fictitious
This colt is by far and away the best colt in training at Freemason Lodge and has been taking his work rivals apart in his work and has the look of a serious horse. Though he'll probably come on for his initial outing, he is reported to be regarded as a horse of classic potential for next season, so should win his maiden.
NAMIBIAN ORATOR (31/3 Cape Cross(IRE) (8.5f) - Drama Class(IRE) (Caerleon (USA)(10.7f))
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute Owner: Ballymacoll Stud Breeder: Ballymacoll Stud
4th known foal, half-brother to Scottish Stage, a high-class middle distance performer at 3 and a 7f winner at 2; dam a lightly raced 10f winner at 3, out of a sister to top-class juvenile Prince Of Dance, from family of Sun Princess
Another colt with Sir Michael Stoute and another who will ultimately be better next season; his work, like Highland Glen, though, suggests he should be well up to making his mark this season in his maiden. He is a half brother to the smart Scottish Stage who was a debut winner and this colt is by a sire who is a rich source of juvenile winners, so you would have to be hopeful of a win this year.
NORTH EAST CORNER (13/1 b c Giant's Causeway(USA) (9.1f) - Saree (Barathea (IRE)(9.6f))
Trainer: Barry Hills Owner: Thomas Barr Breeder: Earle I Mack
first foal; dam 7f winner at 2, later useful in US, sister to top-class Magical Romance, winner of Cheveley Park Stakes, closely related to Oaks winner Alexandrova (by Sadler's Wells)
(375,000gns) He's a beautifully bred son of Giant's Causeway who is regarded as the brightest prospect amongst the yards juveniles. He is related to an Oaks winner, but has speed in his pedigree and his dam was a winner on only career start at two; due to make his debut very soon and it could well be a winning one the way he has been shaping up in his work.
