Uncle Roy

I never once referred to Benitez as a 'cunt' or made reference to his weight. And while I was hugely critical of him last season, I was also of the opinion that if the alternative was Roy Hodgson, I'd stick with Benitez

So wear it

'Thanks for the CL Rafa, now fuck off'?

Nope, not strident or abusive at all.

And yes, I know it was done with a certain amount of humour, and that it's unfair to lump you in with rage, but still...

It's hardly cowardly to play 442 at Citeh. We just scored more than once at Old Toilet for the second time in 15 years. If you going to blame Roy you'll have to come up with better reasons than his perceived cojones.

Well, the Man U game is acceptable. However on 2-2 they are clearly hit hard, and we had the momentum. Has it got anything to do with Roy that we give back the momentum straight away? Why did not either full back bomb down the flanks creating some width as they both normally use to do it?? The end of the story is that we did not dare to go for a victory in the first place, and we certainly did not dare to do it when we got 2-2 and got the momentum swinging our way. We could of course scrapped a point but it did cost us the game in the end.

It does seem that the people who were most strident and abusive about Benitez, are now saying that Hodgson 'deserves time', because otherwise they'll seem a bit stupid.

But he's had 3 decades of management already. And he's mediocre. Always has been. Always will be.

Just because you wanted Benitez out doesn't mean you *have* to blindly support his really average successor.

Just go and look at his stats for Away games: it's a fucking *disgrace*

He should never, ever have been appointed as manager of LFC, and he's the worst, and least-qualified manager to ever get the job.
Giving someone more than 5 games before laying in the boot is 'blind support' in your eyes?

Benitez started taking similar abuse after years in charge and going a long time without winning a trophy and destroying our squad with disastrous transfers and squad management. Fair enough Rafa's record allowed this time to be justified, but it doesn't mean we should all be Hodgson's back already. Anyone with any clue knows that some of this shite written today is just pure hysterical bullshit.

Judge him at the end of the season. If he finishes 5th or 6th then he's done alright.
you think roy will be sacked if he fails to secure 4th? I don't. I think roy will only be moved on if new owners arrive.
I'd be amazed if Roy wasn't given a target of a top 4 place. Whether failing to achieve it would automatically lead to him losing his job is moot, but I certainly don't think he can rely on being there till new owners arrive. It'll depend on how we do, and that's as it should be.

As has been repeated before - what has Roy got to do with the home side getting their backs up again? I saw less evidence of cowardice yesterday than a load I could recall from down the years. Thinking of 2-2 draws - remember Hull at home a couple of years ago? We were two down early on and then started playing, got back to 2-2 in the first half playing some lovely stuff... but as soon as the equaliser went in we changed to the original formation and reverted to slow crap, the score stayed 2-2 til the end. It was as if after all that effort, the second goal was the money shot, and once we'd wiped up the jizz and smoked the cig, we rolled over and went back to sleep. I don't know how you account for it. When we went 2 nil down at Citeh last month the same thing happened... All of a sudden we started playing. Hit the post, had a few chances... A decent sports psychologist would have a field day with our midfield, but I doubt very much with the boss.

Steven Gerrard believes Liverpool are already showing signs of improvement under Roy Hodgson - and he hopes to prove it with a four-match winning spree in the coming weeks.

The skipper was speaking after his two goals almost earned the Reds a share of the spoils at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The visitors came from two goals behind but had their hopes dashed late on when Dimitar Berbatov completed his hat-trick to make the final score 3-2.

Gerrard said: "It's going to take time before the new manager gets his feet in the door and gets his ideas over.

"Of course we're improving and the performance was really good. If we play like that every week we'll beat most of the teams in the league. But here we came up against a man in form and he was the difference.

"What's done is done and all we need to talk about in the next few days is the games we have got coming up.

"We've got a League Cup game against Northampton - and that competition is very important to us - before we play Sunderland next week.

"Nobody will be sulking because we want to make sure we go into the next international break next month having won all our games."

Despite the defeat, Gerrard is taking several positives from the way he and his teammates went about their business.

He said: "When you recover a two-goal deficit at Old Trafford you feel really good and you fancy yourself to hang on in there and get a fantastic point but Berbatov has completed his hat-trick. He was superb and his second goal was world class.

"We're disappointing with the result, disappointed to be going away with nothing but really pleased with how we played.

"When you come to Old Trafford it's important to keep the ball otherwise they will control the game, and I think we kept the ball away from them and passed it really well, even though we were a bit edgy in the first half with us being away from home.

"In the second half we were more positive and played some terrific stuff, but you get nothing for that. You've got to create chances and score goals. We got two but that wasn't enough."

Gerrard's second goal was a free-kick which slid past Darren Fletcher in the wall.

The No.8 added: "I saw how he (Edwin van der Sar) set the wall up and the idea was for me to try to get it over.

"But you see so many free-kicks where walls break or they go through gaps and if you hit the target you get your reward and I got that."

I can't see how getting on Roy Hodgson's back at this early stage is helpful.

I wouldn't have appointed him but he is Liverpool Manager and deserves support.

It's heartening that, at last, the skipper has acknowledged that time is needed saying: “Of course it’s going to take time before the new manager gets his feet in the door and gets his ideas overâ€.

Yesterdays second half performance was a small sign that we can play football but we do need to tighten our defence and be bolder in attack. I always thought United could score again.

All that said, we need to get some points on the board pronto or the current doubts will turn into a crisis.

I think it's worth pointing out to roy that if we 'have' to sit back and invite crosses then he should at least field defenders with the ability to DEAL with those crosses, otherwise push up the pitch and prevent the crosses from coming arriving in the first place.

We didn't suddenly sit back at Old Trafford. We got pinned back, like all teams do at times at their place.

I wish people would wise up.

That was directly contributed to by the choices we made at a time when the momentum was ours.

I'm not angry at Hodgson's defensive play for a point at Old Trafford after we'd clawed our way back.

I'm angry at him doing that at Brum.

We need points. We got one at Brum. No disaster, but it didnt look like we wanted 3.

At Trafford we were forced to do a change as they went 2-0 up. Had we changed on 0-0? No. We would have cherised 1 point at 0-0, and then we can see that a little more risk could have given us more....

Hello....his past record was posted on here 1000 x.

I don't know what you were expecting from him.

Give him till XMAS and make a realistic assessment of whether he should continue.

We'll be at least 20 points behind the leaders by then...

Nah, the padded walls in his room should keep him safe from harm.
