England doing very well and have already secured their ticket to the 2017 U-20 World Cup. Beating both France and the Netherlands by a 2-1 scoreline. We should beat Croatia in the last group game to finish will maximum points. A semi-final vs. either Italy or Portugal is the likely outcome.

Group B
July 12

Croatia vs Netherlands 1-3
France vs England 1-2
July 15
Netherlands vs England 1-2
Croatia vs France 0-2

Germany however, as hosts, have had a disastrous tournament and are already certain to fail to qualify for both the 2017 U-20 World Cup and these semi-finals.

Portugal vs Austria 1-1

Sheyi Ojo recorded his third assist of the tournament (England have scored 6 goals) as England beat Croatia 2-1 in the European U19s Championships on Monday. The Liverpool winger teed up Chelsea’s Isaiah Brown for the opening goal of the game after four minutes, before Silvio Anocic’s own goal doubled England’s lead.

Nikola Moro pulled a goal back for Croatia but Aidy Boothroyd’s side held on to a win that ensures they finish top of Group B after wins against France and Holland.

The young lions will now face Italy in the Semi-Finals on Thursday ahead of a potential Final match against Portugal or France in Sinsheim on Sunday night.

Advancing from the group also ensures that England will compete in next summer’s FIFA U20 World Cup, to be hosted in South Korea. Ojo, born in 1997, will be eligible to play for England in the competition, which takes place between 20 May and 11 June.
