To be fair, if Rodgers hadn't made such a massive pig's ear of the season the review wouldn't be news. But because we are Liverpool and we are in a another fucking mess it does.

We and other big clubs have had bad seasons in the past. Perhaps my memory is playing up but I don't recall "The Review" being an event in everyones calendars.
[article]It’s reported Carlo Ancelotti has given his final response to Milan and refused a return to San Siro.
The Coach had several meetings last week with Rossoneri CEO Adriano Galliani and President Silvio Berlusconi assured he was “optimistic” on the deal going through.
However, the former Real Madrid boss flew out to Vancouver with his wife on vacation and said he’d give a reply by tomorrow.
A statement released by Milan confirmed Ancelotti has now told the Rossoneri "cannot be our Coach next season."
Ancelotti said in a Press conference last week that he’d “take a year off” if he was indeed sacked by Real Madrid.
“Thanks to Milan for their support and interest. It was hard to say no to such beloved club to me but I need some rest. I wish them the best,” wrote Ancelotti on Twitter this evening.[/article]
FSG seem to be sitting pretty then. They give Rodgers more control so that they can't be seen as a club who sack managers following one bad season.
Should he succeed, money saved & everyone's happy, should he fail badly enough that he's out by Christmas, then klopp is available, should he last the season but still not reach the targets given we have the possibility of Ancelotti.
