Any triathletes out there? Or anyone who does the different disciplines religiously?

I have quit my rowing team due to my inability to juggle it with work and trying to get laid now that i'm single.

Anyway - i've signed up to a half ironman triathlon (2k swim, 90k bike, 20k run) in June and am starting my training for it. Would love to hear advice from anyone who either does triathlons or one of these activities separately for tips - swimming especially!

Swimming - I got into my local pool about 4 weeks ago for my first swim in 3 years. I was dying literally every 50m, signs didn't look good. I'm now working on my breathing and trying not to smash it through the pool too hard. I got a watch to use for sports that does swimming so I can see my times which is useful to monitor improvements and overall distance without having to count lengths.

So far my best 400m is 9:46 and I know I need to get into the 8 mins or quicker by the time it gets to June but i'm happy with this as it was 30 seconds quicker than one i did 2 weeks before. If anyone has tips on ways to structure training e.g. distances/ rests/ intervals etc that would be ideal as I just kind of make it up at the mo.

Cycling - I haven't cycled in ages but am getting out on it a bit more. Finding some strength in the legs quite quickly so hoping this bit will be a doddle, just need to keep practicing the whole bike then run aspect as that is where i almost passed out doing a duathlon in 2012.

Running - I'm crap but hoping I can just keep making training runs longer and by the time the event comes I can just hack through it.

Anyone else have any events on the horizon?

Oh.. also - I am 4kg down in a month from stepping up the training which is pretty cool. I put on a bit of weight recently so its nice to see that dropping off with ease!
