If Suarez is off we could definitely do a lot worse than getting Bony in. Problem being I'm sure he'll be aware that we'll be switching back to 1 up top for a lot of games & he'll be competing with Sturridge & Lambert.
If the lad's got confidence in his own ability he'll come to us. If he wants an easier ride & more money he'll probably go to spurs, assuming Rodgers wants him.

Solid player but as a replacement for Suarez it is a massive downgrade.
I do rate him, but I don't really see where he'd fit into the squad now that we've got two no.9s in the Studge and Rickie Lambert.
He's not a top 6 player in my opinion. Lambert is a better player and will suit our system much better.
He wouldn't be a replacement for Suarez. For one thing we aren't going to get such a replacement anyway - Suarez is too damn good to replace directly, so we're going to have to do it some other way. For another thing, he'd be competition for Sturridge and Lambert, who don't/won't play the same role as Suarez in the team.

Arf. They could do a lot worse. Van Persil won't be at his current level for much longer and I have my doubts about Hernandez as a regular starter.

Would he really go to United? I'd have thought he'd have had a large choice of clubs after him.
Man Utd have been put of the top flight for 1 season. Now they're getting a world class manager and can pay players extremely well (look at Rooney), why wouldn't you go?
He probably would, at the end of the day there is only a limited number of clubs who are in the market for 30m+ Plus players and even less of them that can pay the level of wages we can.
Not having CL this year is a massive negative for many players but over the next 5 years Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal will be fighting hard for the last 2 CL places. Some players may feel that over the durarion of theor contract they will play as many seasons in the CL with us as against with you or Arsenal.
