Transfer Rumours

RMC Sport says that Real Madrid have reached a contractual agreement with Colombia playmaker James Rodriguez. It is believed that the European champions will pay Rodriguez eight million euros a year on a five year deal.

Los Blancos are yet to agree a fee with Monaco for the 22-year-old but it is speculated that they are prepared to offer 85 million euros, a fee that the principality side cannot resist.

Crystal Palace were one of the surprise packages of the Premier League last season and Tony Pulis is seeking to strengthen his squad with several new additions ahead of the forthcoming campaign. The Eagles are believed to have agreed fees with Tottenham and Cardiff City respectively for Gylfi Sigurdsson and Frazier Campbell though they are still locked in negotiations for the transfer of Steven Caulker.

Didn't Sigurdsson refuse to move cos of wages ?

Atletico Madrid are in negotiations with Sevilla to sign left-back Alberto Moreno in a cash-plus-players deal, according to AS. The Spain international had been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool but it now appears that the Spanish champions are in poll position for his signature.

Tottenham are one of only two Premier League clubs yet to make a signing this summer but that could be about to change, according to The Times.

New coach Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly identified Real Sociedad forward Antoine Griezmann as his No.1 attacking target though faces competition from Bayern Munich for his signature. The France international bagged 16 goals in La Liga last season and can leave the San Sebastian outfit if his 30 million euro release clause is activated.

Tottenham are also hopeful of wrapping up a 10 million pound deal for Swansea left-back Ben Davies while they are keeping tabs on PSV wonderkid Zakaria Bakkali who is also on Liverpool's radar.

Oussama Assaidi could be set for a return to Stoke City after Liverpool re-opened negotiations for the Moroccan winger. The 24-year-old impressed on loan at the Britannia Stadium last season but the Potters were initially reluctant to stump up the seven million pounds requested by the Merseyside outfit.

However, Liverpool are now rumoured to have lowered their valuation upon signing Lazar Markovic and with few options out wide, Mark Hughes is desperate to strike a deal for Assaidi, who scored five goals in the red and white jersey last season.

Catalan daily Sport say that Barcelona have a 'Plan B' should they fail to land Valencia defender Jeremy Mathieu.

The club's director of football Andoni Zubizarreta yesterday confirmed that the club had made a final bid for the 30-year-old Frenchman -- believed to be 15 million euros plus Ibrahim Afellay -- but if their pursuit is unsuccessful, the Catalan club will turn to Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels and Ajax defender Daley Blind who both impressed for Germany and Netherlands respectively at the World Cup.

Sky Sports News say that former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand will have a medical at Queens Park Rangers today. The 35-year-old centre-back is a free agent and is believed to welcome the opportunity to return to London where he will be re-united with Harry Redknapp.

We should be after Griezmann aswell. Dont think he'll move to Spurs but Bayern will be tougher to beat for his signature.

It's Hamez!
Real Madrid look set to tie up a mammoth £63million move for Colombia playmaker James Rodriguez.
The midfielder has reportedly agreed terms with the 10-time European champions over a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, according to Spanish daily AS.
They claim that the Monaco man - who joined the Principality club for £38million from Portuguese side Porto last summer - will move to the Spanish capital.
Rodriguez has seen his reputation go stratospheric this summer, which is fitting considering he will become the latest in a long line of Galacticos.
The 22-year-old scored six goals at the World Cup finals in Brazil to end the tournament as top scorer, as he led Los Cafeteros to their best ever showing at a finals.
His arrival would represent another act of significant squad strengthening from Los Blancos this week, having completed the signing of World Cup winner Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich.

Maybe, like paying a percentage of his wages. Sounds like the type of shite we'd do a few years back

We probably will still need to do that when we move Reina off. After that, and Johnson's contract expires, hopefully, we'll have seen the last of the monster wages for a while.

Monaco doubling their money in 12months then. PSG will be laughing at them a bit as they'll never be seen as a true oil baron team if they let their best players go. I wonder if Falcao will be offski. Wonder if Rybolovlev is losing interest.

Yep, they're going to lose serious Oil Baron street cred.

Liverpool are preparing to raise their bid for Swansea striker Wilfried Bony.

Reports last week suggested the Reds were willing to pay Bony's £20m release clause as their summer spending spree continues. But it seems that the Anfield outfit's initial bid was substantially lower than that. Indeed, reports suggest that Brendan Rodgers saw a £12.5m offer dismissed out of hand by the south Wales club.

While Liverpool do have other targets should they fail in a move for the Ivory Coast international, Rodgers is not ready to give up the chase just yet. It is thought that Liverpool will now return with an offer of £15m plus substantial add-ons. While that offer will technically still fall short of the release clause, Liverpool are hopeful that Swansea may be more willing to accept the new offer.

Swansea have already landed Bafetimbi Gomis this summer but have also sent Michu on loan to Napoli this summer. Liverpool have also been linked with moves for Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku, QPR'S Loic Remy and Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette but it seems that Bony remains their priority for the time being.

Reports in Italy claim that Juventus have produced a new list of targets following the transfer of Juan Iturbe to Roma. The 21-year-old Argentine winger looked destined for a move to the Bianconeri before Antonio Conte's resignation caused the deal to collapse.

It is speculated that the Italian champions are seeking technical players with pace, and Lucas Moura, Javier Pastore, Stevan Jovetic, Erik Lamela and Adem Ljajic have been drawn up as possible candidates.

The Daily Mail says that Manchester City will move for Everton sensation Ross Barkley should Yaya Toure leave the club. The Premier League champions are hopeful that the Ivory Coast international will pledge his future to the club but there have been reports that he does not feel appreciated at the club.

If Toure does decide to leave the Etihad outfit, Manuel Pellegrini is likely to make a move for Barkley, who was part of England's underwhelming World Cup campaign. However, the 20-year-old would certainly not be cheap, with Roberto Martinez reportedly slapping a 50 million pound price tag on his most prized asset.

Louis van Gaal is currently holding his first press conference as Manchester United manager and has informed the media that coaching roles will be offered to Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and Phil Neville.

The former Netherlands boss has also dismissed reports of an immediate clear-out, saying that he will give all of his players the chance to prove themselves: "I want to see what my players can do in first 3/4 weeks - then I will buy other players."
-----------------
So this means we have 3-4 weeks to get our deals done - Reus, Griezmann and Isco all before v.Gaal decides on his targets (assuming he hasn't and this bluster is all a smokescreen).

Jefferson Montero: Swansea close in on Ecuador World Cup winger
Swansea City are closing in on the signing of Ecuadorian international winger Jefferson Montero.
The 24-year-old, who plays for Mexican club Monarcas Morelia, has arrived in Wales for a medical.
Montero previously played in Europe during three years with Villarreal in Spain and loan spells with Levante and Real Betis.
He played in all three of Ecuador's group games at the 2014 World Cup.
He has scored eight goals in 43 appearances since making his international debut in 2007.

It is the Express so bollocks but that sounds just like the Allen bids.

How does it work with release clauses (like Suarez), do the other team have to offer all the cash upfront in one lump sum to activate it? Or can they offer £1 and then the rest in incentives upto the value of the release clause?

One would assume that that would be detailed in the release clause .. so therefore decided on a case by case basis.

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is set to launch a bid for a Uruguayan star from his home city.
The Black Cats have reportedly agreed to sign Leandro Rodriguezfrom River Plate, who are based in Poyet's home city of Montevideo.
River chairman Alvaro Silva has revealed that a formal agreement is in place for the 21-year-old forward to move, but only at the end of the South American season.
Silva said: "Gustavo Poyet called me when he was in Montevideo and asked me about Leandro Rodríguez, he told me 'I need a player of his kind for Sunderland'."
"However, the club's foreign quota does not allow you to take now so surely done in December, although there are other options for the player."
"We believe he will stay with us until December and then go to England"
Sunderland, however, will be looking for a striker for the start of the season. Connor Wickham's future is in doubt, while Danny Graham and Nacho Scocco look set to depart the club.
Regarded as the River's hottest property, Rodriguez has scored 10 goals in 50 appearances for the club.

Griezmann to Spurs?

It has the ring of truth though because if we had already bid the release amount there wouldn't be any question.

There have been reports of us matching the release clause but Hugh Jenkins refusing to speak to us as that was what we did with the Arsenal Suarez bid.

This sounds less bullshit.
