Transfer rumours

How the tables have turned, Spurs, Arsenal and Utd are chasing loan signings and «quality» players like Ighalo, King, Giroud.
While we bought the one player Klopp wanted prior to the window opening.

Its been a while since we could say that we’re an extremely well run club, and a squad with so much quality other teams are in awe of us.

Its fucking boss being a Liverpool fan these days.

Watching united flapping around desperately trying to sign any striker was fabulous.

I do hope Bruno Fernandes isn't half as good as his stats seem to suggest he is. That's the one concern from this transfer window.

Is Klopp going to ask Milner to keep covering for Robbo next season?

I get the feeling that he is giving the youth players a chance to develop into players capable of covering at FB. Milner will continue to understudy until he feels that they're ready. Larouci, Lewis, Williams and Hoever all appear to have excellent potential as FBs. Do we buy players and virtually ensure there is no route for them into the first team?

I would agree that this is the plan but imo Milner is getting very close to the point of not having enough in the tank to play fullback and I'm not sure Larouci is our man. I don't watch any of the youngsters these days, is there anyone else who can cover left back?

From what I've seen from Lewis and Larouci I don't think they're good enough.
Well they're not at the level Neco is anyway, who could be in the Welsh Euro 2020 squad. So, I'm all for Neco being Trent's understudy next season but I think there's a big gap on the other flank.
I'm all for Klopp giving the kids a chance but they have to be good enough too.
From what I've seen, there's currently five players who could potentially become a permanent fixture in the senior team in the near future and it's Elliott, Jones, Williams, Brewster and Hoever. If I'm being completely honest only one of them impresses me the way I was impressed by Suso and Sterling for instance. No it's not Jones, it's actually Elliott.
Can't believe he's still 16 years old.

From what I remember of him his he's decent but a bit on the small side, not that quick, and picks up too many injuries. He'll make it as a footballer but probably not at the top level.

Generally if you've got a realistic prospect of becoming a Liverpool player you look outstandingly good in the youth teams. The only one who fits the bill is Hoever, but even he doesn't seem to have kicked on as expected the last year or so.

Neco has looked great everytime he's played and has the class and tactical awareness that just stand out a mile. Larouci has done ok and looks reasonable going forward, but totally unconvincing defensively. He just doesn't look like he has enough about him, at least at the minute. And as said, Milner doesn't look capable of playing fullback much longer, he's certainly been much poorer there of late, plus he's said himself he doesn't enjoy playing there.

It's starting to tell a bit on Robbo, that a lack of a breather has caught up with him, so it's definitely a position that needs reinforcing. It's ok saying we have cover should the worst happen, but Klopp seems completely against using anyone else, save for domestic cup games or the very worst injury crisis. Perhaps we could just do with a versatile defender who can cover a couple of positions. I was quite impressed by Hoever in every position he has played in, but he seems to have dropped down the pecking order a bit.

Plus, we still have room for improvement in the squad, because when it comes to domestic cups we just don't have the capacity to be bothered with it and when the CL is up and running, that's when you start to worry about the ability of the likes of Trent, Virgil and Robbo to keep playing back to back games. We've been lucky with injuries, but it's an accident waiting to happen IMO.

Yup, full-back cover should be near top of the list.

Is Kurzawa at PSG any good? He's free in the summer.

If he's willing to be rotated for a couple of years then we should probably pay what it takes.

Agree, just get it paid. He will replace mo at some stage as I'm sure he will head to Spain at some point when Real and Barca come calling. With the 250m+ we can afford Sancho and others

Talk of juve going to pay 150m for big Virg in papers this morning. 150m haha, that won't even pay for his left leg. Just utter tripe as per usual

Apparently the source is that infernal rag.

The other day I was in a caff which provides newspapers for customers. Someone came in, picked one up without looking on the way to his chosen table, saw what it was he'd picked up, came back to the rack and put the ******* thing back. I gave a silent cheer.

Sancho is worth breaking the bank for, a generational talent who could be with us for the next 10 years.

Plus he is English and which will matter more in the coming years as the fa wants to increase the number of English players in squads.

Rotated ? If you mean play 3 games and sub for the 4th (ditto our current front three) then absolutely. His record in Germany is insane for a 19 year old. Breaking all records. This isn't a player for the bench.
