[article]Liverpool have seen a €15m offer for goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir turned down by Trabzonspor, according to a report in Turkey.

Jurgen Klopp’s side lodged the offer, which Turkish paper Karadeniz Gazetesi claimed included €10m plus infamous flop Loris Karius, with the hope of getting a deal done this month.

“There are offers for Cakir, we continue to receive offers. It’s been said Liverpool have made an offer,” Trabzonspor’s president said n quotes cited by The Metro.

“So a team that is undefeated in the Premier League wants my keeper. In other words Liverpool’s goalkeeper is in my goal.”

However, Sabah via Sport Witness say that Trabzonspor’s hierarchy decided to turn down the bid as they want to keep Cakir in their squad at least until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old, who made his debut for Turkey last May, is seen as a player with huge potential and the Super Lig club are hoping Cakir will perform well at this summer’s Euros, which will see his value soar.

Cakir has made 24 appearances in all competitions this season and has impressed with his performances and is under contract until the end of June 2024, with Trabzonspor holding an option to extend that by 12 months.

Trabazonspor will be hoping that they can get Cakir to be the subject of a summer bidding war, which Klopp will certainly not be keen on.

Cakir’s agent recently confirmed that Liverpool were among four English clubs tracking the two-time Turkey international.

“Liverpool are one of four English sides keeping close tabs on Ugurcan,” Engin Kirkpinar said.

“Liverpool are among the sides interested in Cakir and have been monitoring his progress.”

West Ham are believed to be one of the other clubs chasing the player.[/article]

I heard we want Turan in any deal...

Spurs will have an option to buy Fernandes for 65m euros (£56m), after Benfica accepted a higher loan fee for the 21-year-old. Chelsea are believed to have offered an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy for £55m should Fernandes play at least 50 per cent of games over the 18-month period, while West Ham are thought to have made a similar offer with an obligation to buy for £33m, with a lower percentage of appearances triggering the purchase.

It's all about the quintuple this year, fool.
Well, that's what we're hoping for.

However there's genuinely a very good chance we get that double, due to the league lead so big so early meaning we could switch attention/focus to CL at some point, & Klopp's record with us of not being knocked out of European competitions.

The chance of winning everything (but the league Cup which we threw away) however, are much lower, despite us knowing its entirely possible, & hoping for it.

If the CL final is way after the last game of the season like last season, and on the assumption that we make it to the final (just an assumption), then I really hope we do make it to the FA Cup Final, as it would give us an extra competitive game. After watching us in last seasons final - my God that was tough - watching both teams - neither having kicked a ball for what ? ..... 4 weeks. We were lucky not to face another team from another nation that was still playing competitive games one or two weeks before that final.

I don't know why cos I'm usually quite bullish, but I can't see us winning the CL again. I just can't.

I know rationally we're probably the favourites, but I dunno. Maybe it's just too much to hope for.

Yep. That's how I'm feeling. It just feels like it would be tooo good to actually come true. I just feel there's going to be a blip that'll cost us. But if we are getting all of our players back from injury ... and it stays that way then maybe just maybe.

Such doubts are also quite rational IMO as it's so rare for a team to win two in a row.

We are Liverpool though. We made Istanbul happen and we overturned a 3-0 deficit against Barcelona just last season. Miracles come with the territory. 😎

Equally... we specialise in fucking these things up as well.

Better team in Athens, the only team to be on top of the league at Christmas and not go on to win it.... twice.... Michael Thomas’ goal in the last minute of the last game to lose hand Arsenal the league.... signing Andy Carroll....

We tend to find new and awful ways to routinely inflict misery on ourselves as often as we pull one out of the hat.

Valid points, but I think that any team with 6 European Cups, 18 league titles and a shitload of other domestic and European/ World trophies, gets it right more often than we fuck it up.

Keep The Faith.

Infact... I fully expect Priti Patel to classify “Kelly’s Hero’s” aa a terrorist organisation any day now...

There can't be many guys in your line of business whose outlook is "glass half empty". 😉

Ever since I retired to a desk job punting fabulous tasty beverages online, my outlook has changed...

Daily Express saying Roma inquired about Shaq and we said we don’t want to sell

Not in the last 30 years we haven’t.

Let’s not get all Luke Skywalker dancing with Ewoks at the supposed end of the Empire.... until we’re sure Rian Johnson & JJ Abrams aren’t coming along to fuck it all up.

It was and we rightly said no. Why the fuck would we want to loan him considering the injury problems we've had.

Sometimes Grealish looks like the dog's bollocks, other games he seems ineffectual. Maybe LFC coaching might make him perform at a high level in every game.
