Transfer rumours

He's from Britain the one thing he should strive for is to win the premiership.
Nah, other players have turned down those amounts to stay and compete in Europe.
1 - Premier League
2 - 4 Champions Leagues.. and a La Liga. Not a bad return for any career..

Frank Ribery linked with us, on a free, 1 year deal perhaps? But he's 36, could he do a job for us as cover for the front 3?

I said a month ago that I'd heard we wouldn't be signing anyone. I didn't really believe it and I hoped it was wrong, but it is looking more and more likely.

So one more trophy (vs. his career record below) vs. £100m. It's so easy for you to say banging away on your keyboard but likely he doesn't really give a shit (as most wouldn't with his record).

I think most players don't give a shit about our opinions on this forum.
That said, how much would he earn at Man U or Spurs? It's not like it's 100mill or nothing.
He's 30 years old, at arguably the peak of his career. China will still be there in 2-3 years.
Why is Milner playing left back for us at 34 when he can make twice his wages in China? We haven't even offered him a new contract.
There's still time for Bale to do what the likes of Iniesta and Xavi did.

Seriously. Do not have any imagination ? Can you not fathom why someone would choose China over a team having no chance of winning the PL ?

Nobody is going to bring him back to the PL anyways so it’s a moot point.

Utd were the only option once upon a time but time has passed and they’ve already been very badly burned in this kinda deal. I doubt they were interested this time round.

You'd think it would work both ways , would bale actually want to go to Utd? He won practically everything and averaged a major title a season til last season and then go to Utd and play with Chris smalling and Luke Shaw and finish top 6

Of course I can see that, but he's still the one pricing himself out of a move to a premier League challenging team. That's the thing I'm questioning, his motivation. There's been money grabbers in football ever since "real" money was introduced to the game, but there still are players around who want to compete at the highest level. That's why I used Milner as an example.

There are any number of reasons why someone may not want to go and play in China, or even Spain or Germany or France. Milner seems to be a bit of a home boy to me and prefers to stay not only just in England but in the NW. I don't call people who move for a pay increase money grabbers, most people on this forum would do the same if a massive pay increase was offered, securing your (and your family's) future over a shot at glory.

Nothing wrong in that if you are willing to give up a pay increase to stay where you are. It happens every day in other industries, people prefer the company they are at rather than to move abroad, possibly uprooting their families, (this applies whether you are British, Italian, German whatever) however there are also those (expatriates such as myself) who enjoyed not only the pay increase but the whole adventure of living in another country. Who can say what Bale feels though a £100m contract certainly helps.

Hey if I was making shit money and was offered a job abroad with more money I'd definitely take it. But Im average joe-nas swede, with no real security. He's loaded.

Exactly. There's no defence against the charge of greed for someone already worth 50m quid or whatever moving to China for yet more money.

It's just fucking greedy.

Apparently Real didn't want to take a huge loss on the transfer fee so they decided to kill the move.
