Transfer rumours

Would love to know what's gone on there. Last summer we were all over him, he then goes on top lay a full season with no sign of any serious injuries, then gets sold this summer on the cheap. I wonder if they spotted the same sort of special substances like they did in Remy's medical.

It's possible that his form had something to do with it, as his form dropped off and he scored about half as many goals vs the season before.

I say "dropped off". Went back to normal.

It’s not that. It’s just that if the really wealthy clubs aren’t buying but you still want to sell then you have to take whatever the second or third tier spenders can give you.
That West ham thing was mad. Offered 45 mil for that Maxi Gomez fella and he wanted to go to Valencia who only offered 15mil and he still went to Valencia. You'd be gutted you couldn't milk the cow with every transfer

Its been a very quiet year so, with just 2 weeks left this is either the calm before the storm and everybody is waiting for one or two deals to have a ripple effect across Europe or its just a dead summer where alot of the top sides have opted not to pay over the odds.

I still think there are a couple of big moves that could trigger more widespread activity but they would need to happen pretty soon. Neymar, Pogba and Bale moving would all generate big fees and mean a reshuffle of talent.

Pogba will stay for another year.

Neymar may swap out with Coutinho and I can see Eriksen going to one of the Madrid teams. Inter aren't going to be able to afford Lukaku so that will run dry. I'm hoping Bale digs his heals in and runs down that contract. Keeps Madrid away from Salah and Mane.

Telegraph's Chris Bascombe casually mentions that "Liverpool plan to make a first-team signing in this transfer window" without elaborating it further.

Move is confirmed. Saga finally over.

We aren't going to spend big on anyone unless they are on Klopp's list and suddenly become available.
Chelsea have their ban in place.
Arsenal don't have big money to spend.
Spurs are paying off their new stadium.
City don't need many players and have probably done their business already.
United should be the most active but it seems like they will buy a few but by their standards not at the top level.

Yep, a quiet window. Maybe a couple of big moves left but not holding my breath we'll be involved.

The Firm have really put their neck on the block for this one !

Lille president Gerard Lopez has revealed the future of in-demand winger Nicolas Pepe is close to being decided.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a host of top European clubs this summer after scoring 23 goals in 41 appearances last season.

"It is true that there are big offers and big clubs in for him, so I think [he will leave].

The Firm remind me of Psychic Medium, Clinton Baptiste from Phoenix Nights.

For every HIT "Is there a John in the audience?", , there's a dozen MISSES "You've not bin very well have ya luv, and its terminal?"

"Sorry Mr.Bloggs, I'm afraid it's terminal."
"I want a second opinion!".
"OK, it's terminal, you're ***** ugly."
