It was always him of Kanoute. The CB department we should be okay with, last season I think was an anomaly.I presume a reason for not buying Kabak is to do with the number of foreign players in the squad
He was a good player in his day, but don't think we should be spending so much on a 43 year old Freddie Kanoute
He is 20 and looks 20.He was a good player in his day, but don't think we should be spending so much on a 43 year old Freddie Kanoute
WhooshHe is 20 and looks 20.
Okay, I get it. it's probably the same as Graham or GreahamIf you mean the defender we just signed, his name is KONATE and he's actually 22. Kanouté was a forward player for one or two Lahndan sides decades ago.
People complain about lack of ambition and us pinching pennies.
It's almost like some would have been more satisfied had we signed Kabak for 8.5m instead of splurging on Konate.
Then fuck of Shaqiri,Matip and Grujic...I presume a reason for not buying Kabak is to do with the number of foreign players in the squad
That's close to £80m if we get rid of all at anywhere close to our valuations. I still expect to see us bring in at least 2 players, one in the 30-40m range and one or maybe two in the 15-25m range. From James Pearce via the Athletic:
Incomings
Parallels to last year when we had to sell Hoever and Brewster to help fund later deals for Thiago & Jota
- No bids made for Renato Sanches or Saul Niguez
- Yves Bissouma and Youri Tielemans admired - however both out of our price range
- Neuhaus interest is real, however the release clause has expired, Gladbach don't want to sell.
- Kingsley Coman not a target
- Donyell interest is real, and we did make an official enquiry on his availability. However haven't followed it up.
- Kabak was indeed offered to us for £8.5m - we still said no
Outgoings
- Grujic & Wilson most likely to be sold
- Porto not willing to meet our asking price for Grujic
- Wilson wanted by Brentford, WBA and Benfica - We want more than £11m
- Phillips is available if someone offers £15m - Burnley are sniffing
- Neco Willioams available for £10m - Leeds, Southampton and Burnley interested
- Karius & Ojo have been told they have no future at us.
- Origi is available, however the club have denied reports of an £11m bid from Gladbach
- Shaqiri available for £13m
- Awonyi available for £8m - Wanted by Fulham, WBA and Stoke - Club rejected £4.5m bid from Anderlecht.
If you are that shit why not hang around for the money, getting the odd loan here and there, he won't get anywhere close anywhere else. Fun times.Karius has been told he has no future at the club. Funniest shit I've ever read, his Liverpool career ended over 3 years ago and he's still hanging around.
How often has this sale idea been touted over the past 3-4 season? Considering the state of the world at present there won't be any sale (esp. at our valuation whereby the number of potential buyers is extremely low) in the near future (meaning years). Selling 'shares' for investment, yes, outright sale, no.I get the feeling we'll be expected to make up losses for this year and last before any significant change to approach. We had a pre-tax loss of £46m last year, and that'll likely be a bit higher this year. I'd actually say that isn't bad, all things considered, so I have to wonder what margins we're operating at if £100-120M loss in a couple of years can derail us so significantly? It seems like since project superbadidea fizzled out FSG are just looking to asset build for the eventual £multi-billion sale.
Er no. There's a substantial difference between Konate and Kanouté ! Unless you're dyslexic of course, we may have missed that.Okay, I get it. it's probably the same as Graham or Greaham
What a surprise !Apparently, Barcelona have asked for cash in addition to Saul for the Griezmann swap. Atletico aren't interested in that. There's also the matter of wage cuts for both Griezmann and Saul.
I heard on a recent podcast that we already have one more foreign player than we are allowed, under PL rules, so have to move two on if we want to buy another (like Neuhaus or Saul). Then fuck of Shaqiri,Matip and Grujic...
It even goes against FSG policy of "Buy them cheap and sell at a profit" It does on have to be Coutinho money, we could easierly get 25-30m or more down the line if we chose to sell

Buying Kabak would have meant we would have to move 3 on. I am sure we are looking to move on Shaqiri & Grujic, maybe Keita and Minamino (but probably not Matip), to solve the problem, but its not just a case of ticking the "sell now" option.
If we had bought Kabak and then later missed out on Neuhaus, Saul, Koman or Mbappe due to the foreign player quota, people would be calling for Edwards head.
How do these dumb ass rumours start?
Are journos looking for popular tweets about players a certain amount of fans want Liverpool to sign, then start writing bogus articles linking the club to those players in order to generate clicks?
