Transfer Rumours 21/22

Lol ok, I have learnt something new. Instead of goal, search gol for Brazilian goal clips on twitter

There is no personal craving - I would rather we didn't spend money. What I feel is very simple:

1) I always feel that an injury to Fab, or Hendo would fuck us up. As for the others, they are just prone to injuries at any given time.

2) The games we drew last season all came down to us losing control of the midfield battles. At times you notice that faced with an aggressive opposition that sometimes take the game to us, both Fab, and Henderson weaknesses become exposed.

Also I am a big fan of Curtis, but I think there is an issue with Klopp trusting him. I think he is exciting to watch and that 20/21 season, I thought he was our only decent midfielder. But something has happened since then.

As for Ox, I think he is finished, and don't even count him as As an option. Also my arguments have always been about wanting a midfielder, no attacker, I was happy with the likes of Taki, Origi as backup front men.

I just know by week 4 of this season, we will be scratching our heads for fit bodies in midfield.

Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago, Milner, Kieta, Jones, Elliot - not including Ox, Carvalho or any of the other youngsters who “could” play in midfield-“ - and I feel like Bajcetic could have a breakthrough season.

That’s not threadbare - and Klopp clearly thinks it’s enough.

I’m all for bringing someone else in if they’re top quality - and that primary target seems to be Bellingham - who we’re prepared to wait for.

I don’t see any other midfielder we ‘re being linked too - even as sone sort of temp, emergency, 9th choice cover.

Some of the names on that list just aren't anywhere near as good as the others, such that our quality falls off a cliff when a couple are out. Our midfielders have to work work work and a few of them are routinely injured.

They have been the weakest part of our squad for some time, and where we've made our worst purchases. It's also the hardest thing to get right, and not all midfielders are going to want to play in a Klopp side.

So yeah, we're going to wait. What will it cost us? And what is so special about Bellingham? or is it just that Ox is out, he's in, and homegrown quota shit.

Apart from Henderson, Fabinho, and Milner when he plays, there are too many light weights in that midfield incapable of keeping control of a game.

We do our business early nowadays. If we were in for Nunes I’d imagine we’d have made our move as soon as we’d had the clear ‘not right now’ from Dortmund on Bellingham.

Still, I’d be very happy if true.

Yes yes, we need him, an extra tall body in midfield will complete us !!!! I can almost feel him....
lol
I'm with you I want a CM but thats unlikely to happen unless Keita leaves, which doesn't seem likely unless its for free next summer.
My guess is if we need a CM we will dip into the transfer market in the Winter, and with the WC being played in the Winter, (21/11-18/12), so there will be over a month of no club football and then a few days before the Jan Window opens.
I hope Luis Paqueta is on the radar who can play CM/AM and SS

Amadou Onana: West Ham agree £33.5million fee with Lille for midfielder

Hammers agree fee for Amadou Onana but deal far from completion with personal terms yet to be agreed; West Ham remains in talks to sign Burnley forward Maxwel Cornet; Eintracht Frankfurt winger Filip Kostic still on West Ham radar but club focusing on other deals

Other sources suggest personal terms are far far apart in expectations.

The West Ham fans have gotten a gift there in terms of getting a song for him.

6'4. Him and Soucek on corners and set pieces will make Allardyce proud.

How long more are we going to give Jones though. He's been mediocre at best. Not sure how bad Ox must be in training to be behind him to be honest.

You remove the 3 starters and we will have a mid table midfield.

I think it's a case of waiting for the right midfielder to come around rather than just buy a player for the sake if it.
Our pursuit of Tchouameni proves that we are indeed looking to bolster our midfield.
We bought Van Dijk and Diaz in January. It could happen again.

I'd give Jones this season but he is on thin ice.

If you remove 3 starting midfielders from virtually any team then are down to the bare bones so if we still have a mid-table midfield we're doing well !

Even for City : remove KdB, Silva and Rodri and you're left with Gundogan, Philips & Palmer. You could pull Foden, Mahrez or Grealish back but that isn't their role as they are almost always in the front 3. In fact you may even consider our next midfield 3 from Keita, Carvalho, Milner or Elliott better !

That comment wasnt meant at you, @King Binny.

I searched for his compilations on youtube and found it a bit underwhelming. I wasnt trying to be snarky at your posts or anything 🙂

No worries mate, it was a general post I made cos' I did final the quality of that YouTube video on his latest goal lousy.

Regarding compilations, I haven't finished watching any that isn't on our players, for years. Sometimes it's the music that puts me off, although mostly, it's how they make all players look good that bothered me.

I do hope we can strike a good deal on a Brazilian prospect in the future and reap the long term rewards - like how RM picked up Vincius Jnr and Rodrygo (not the kind of signings like Paletta or Lucas 😀).

Eh, I'd take Gundogan, Philips and fucking Carlton Palmer over 73 year old Milner, 42 year old Keita and Jones every day of the week.

Chelsea's midfield backups are better too and they're after De Jong.

Phillips, Rodri, Gundogan, Silva, De Bruyne are all established starters who will be heavily rotated, as with how they have been operating.

Milner, Jones, Ox, Elliot are not starters. Keita at a stretch, but I will take any of the City 5 mentioned to Keita.

Of the two Endrick and this kid, who would you go for? I'm only going by clips, but I thought Endrick looked better

I didn't know about Marcos Leonardo until recently. Endrick won't be able to move cos he's under 18, right?

Marcos Leonardo has already featured ~100 times for Santos first team but Endrick hasn't debut for Palmeiras so those Endrick clips are youth football whereas the former's are Brazilian top flight ones.

[article]He is speaking to Mirror Football less than 24 hours after scoring a stunning winner with the outside of his boot for Santos in their Brazilian top flight win at Juventude. He started the move on the halfway line by holding up a long ball, showcased his pace with a neat give-and-go and, when he reached the box, demonstrated exquisite technique and poise to nestle the ball into the bottom corner.

Just three days earlier, he scored four goals for Brazil Under-20s in a victory over Uruguay. After ten games of the league season, he has six goals in 10 games. Despite turning 19 just last month, he has already scored 25 senior goals and racked up nearly 100 games.[/article]
