Transfer Rumours 21/22

With 5 subs coming in I would expect him to get more minutes. That’s not just off the bench because we would be more risky in our approach. We could start with a weakened front line with the big guns to break out in case of emergency.

It depends what he wants.

I wonder if the state of our squad has become the new benchmark going into a season. We’ve long sacrificed the domestic cups but we’ve got the strength to challenge now.

Was this season a quirk of a depressed covid transfer market and having to act early on Diaz? I’ve heard Klopp likes a small squad but he might have had his head turned to a bit more depth now. Players like Minamino have played a big part in the success, we’ll not be able to do the same in the World Cup season coming without them.

I think we were somewhat fortunate with injuries this season, well, especially compared to last and that has made our squad depth seem better.
We only added Konata last summer and Diaz in January to a squad that last season seemed to have been stretched to and beyond breaking point.
Matip has had an injury free year and Thiago and Hendo have been available for most of the season's games too.
Whether this is luck or design or a mixture of both is hard to know.

While we have had better luck than last year, there have been points that we have used really young players to bolster the first team squad. Like Tyler Morton played in the San Siro against AC Milan. I can't remember if that was down to injuries or Klopp just decided to lash him in. But he was around the first team for a few games. Over the course of the season, that is bound to have helped. Same with Elliot, before he got kicked into space, he was playing a lot when we had more expereinced players on the bench.

If he's happy to stay (and why not - great salary and look at the fantastic experiences & medals he's notching up) then I'd certainly not be in any hurry to move him on. He's a really good squad member.

Best minutes per goal for Premier League clubs in all competitions this season [1,000+ mins]:
• Takumi Minamino - 101 • Riyad Mahrez - 120 • Eddie Nketiah - 128 • Jamie Vardy - 129 • Mo Salah - 130 • Cristiano Ronaldo - 133

If he does go there then the number of quality players we will need to maintain squad strength is starting to rack up.

I don’t see him going unless he wants to go - and as you rightly say , what’s better - playing more regularly for a team winning nothing or being part of a squad that’s challenging for everything.

If it’s following the money - is anyone going to pay him more?

Mbappe has agreed terms with both Real Madrid and PSG, and will now make his final decision. These transfer saga deals get weirder and weirder. Soon one of them will be televised while the choice is being made.

He is going to announce signing for us, mate. 200 k per week plus Zidane's house plus Lebron has promised to be the god parent for all of his kids.

i hope it’s design and i hope it continues. Adding Jota and Diaz without losing anyone has given us such strength in attack that we’re almost always able to field a reasonable front 3 in every competition. Losing Divock is going to lessen the depth slightly but he’s barely played.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re looking at a right sided player in the next few windows to follow on from Salah on the assumption he runs out his contract.

Only happens if we don't get Tchouameni.
I think Tchouameni is a smokescreen, after all he doesn't speak Portuguese or is from the Portuguese League. We'll end up with Matheus Nunes, Brazilian and plays for SP.
(NB Tsimi and IK are exceptions to the rule)

I mean, long term planning of having sangare and tchouameni would be nice. Bellingham to join next year

Id be all over him, but I'm not paid the big bucks.

Hopefully he rocks the boxes for the club, because from what I've seen, he'd be perfect for us

I’d stop supporting the club if we signed him. He’s a fucking prick.

Not that the club would notice.
