Carragher really was a prick to foreigners who didn’t impress wasn’t he.
The Mirror reported near the time of the deal that we were due £4.5m for every 25 appearances, up to a total of 100. Coutinho has just passed 100 appearances for Barca, so they did a pretty shit job at not playing him to save paying the add-ons (which seems like par for the course with them at the moment).
The finance company would not have paid out on those instalments, they'll be due from Barca to LFC as and when they are triggered.

Liverpool 'preparing €30m Mbappe offer'
Liverpool are reportedly preparing a massive contract offer worth €30 million per year to beat Real Madrid to the signing of PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe.
That is according to Spanish publication Defensa Central, who are reporting that Liverpool are planning to blow Real out of the picture in the race to sign Mbappe this summer.
The talented youngster has previously been linked to Liverpool and Real, and looked to set to be leaving the French capital in the summer after informing the club of his desire to leave.
Madrid attempted to take full advantage of the situation but failed with a second bid for Mbappe worth €200m (£171.7m) on transfer deadline-day, while a third offer from the Spanish side was reportedly ignored by PSG.

May then, Boris now. The only we find money is to borrow the money or we sell a star player. As said, Ox, Kieta, Gomez and Origi/Firminio equate to a tidy sum. Without sales I reckon we have £40m budget.
