Transfer Rumours 21/22

Gini usually reserved his best performances for big games, some even called him “big-game Gini.” The 6 - 6.5 performances every week are not surprising given that he played in every game without rest and often in different midfield positions too.

Indeed, although he has been given 3-4s by the Paris press.
Singled out as one of the worst against Brugge midweek.

Georginio Wijnaldum, 3 – Again lacklustre and ineffective, seems to be bordering on unfit. No real effect on the game and failed to match the intensity of the Brugge midfield, or Herrera alongside him. Hooked at half time.

Hmm, that does sound bad.

Did he play that much more, each season, than Robbo/VVD/Trent/Salah/Mané?

Saw this ...

Georginio Wijnaldum: 4/10

Not the debut to remember for Wijnaldum as he looked nervous all evening. He had a 93% pass accuracy, but apart from that, he did nothing to justify his selection in the lineup. Hooked off at half-time.
I am assuming those passes were all backwards and sideways?

Erling Haaland's release clause is €90M. Apart from that, his father and Mino Raiola want €20M in comissions each. His transfer could cost up to €130M in transfer fees alone. #BVB (via @mundodeportivo)

Hell of a note-- Dortmund has protected its value well, though, and couldn't give a tinker's about any extraneous costs.

Looking like the people in charge of transfers and contracts got it right, yet again, with Gini.

Let Klopp run him into the ground last season, then move him on.

Is it Gini or the system? Anyways Qatar FC are giving him 300k a week for 4 years (correct me if I am wrong), or £60m over the term of his contract, is some consolation

He’d be an excellent signing. I think he could do a job deeper, in midfield than the more attacking role he has at arsenal. He’s a great talent.

Klopp would love him - he's super versatile and intelligent, would be interesting to see how Klopp would mould him.

That said, I don't see Arsenal selling for at least another 2 years. A lot could change in that time. Arsenal could see an improvement, they may offer him a new deal. Equally possible is that Saka's own development stagnates (he wouldn't be the first very talented young player to go through that phase) or he suffers an injury. Don't think there'll be anything to this in the immediate future.

Anyone wanting him next summer would have to pay an obscene amount (Arsenal would demand 100 million) to get him.

Free transfers, which could be pre-agreed in Jan (Mbappe is RM bound or resigns). I think Pedri knows the new Barca team will be built around him, so I reckon he stays. Italians and Liverpool are like oil and water.

What is up with Rudiger, is he signing or not? I think the majority there will end up signing new deals but if not then can certainly see us going in for Lorenzo Pellegrini.

It will be interesting to see which of those sign new contracts and which gold out for a move.

M'Bappe, Pogba, Dybala, Dembele, Rodriguez & Lacazette likely on their way for starters.
