Just when Klopp said "we are not a million miles away (from the likes of City) we go and show we are, in fact, a million miles away. Yes, Lovren had a mare, but he was far from the only culprit - almost half the team put up unacceptable performances. Salah, Phil and Moreno the only ones to emerge with any credit. I haven't been bothering to write long posts lately because I just don't know what to think about this team any more; it's all just baffling and beyond reasonable analysis lately, like a bad dream. Maybe when this season is over we will understand what the fuck happened.

In almost every sport, the key to success is high quality player recruitment year in and year out. Coaching and management are significantly less important. As a club, we've failed spectacularly to grasp this concept.
