is according to Liverpool.no back in full training today and could be involved on saturday against Blackburn.

Sorry if this has already been posted.
It's taken from Andy Hunter and the Guardian.

Extremely good news

Yea, maybe, but I'm nervous that this'll just go on and on and on.

It'll take a significant run of games for me to stop thinking about this. He could help by scoring lots of pretty goals, which he will of course..

Torres hoping for Rovers return

Fernando Torres could return from injury in Liverpool’s game at Blackburn on Saturday. In a match that will be captain Steven Gerrard’s 500th for the club, Liverpool could have their feared attacking partnership back together for the first time in 10 matches.

Torres is close to returning to full training after treatment for a serious groin injury and manager Rafael Benitez will give the striker every chance of taking on Blackburn, who beat Chelsea in the Carling Cup quarter-finals last night.

Torres has not figured since the Champions League clash with Lyon on November 4th following a problem sustained on international duty.

Benitez said: “The feedback we had about Torres yesterday was very positive and he was feeling good. We will see how he is in the next training sessions, but it seems as though

things are going well.â€

Asked whether the Spain international could face Rovers, Benitez added: “It depends on how he feels during the week.

“He has to keep training with the fitness coach, but if he is feeling better maybe he can be involved in normal training sessions and afterwards we can decide.â€

Benitez expects to have something close to a full squad of players to choose from for the clash with Sam Allardyce’s side.

He said: “We have two or three players with knocks, but hopefully they are small things. It is always very positive (to have a fully fit squad), but there is a big difference in players being available and being ready.

“When they are coming back from injuries you have to be careful, but at least we will have options we didn’t have before.â€

Can we please stop calling Nando a bunny. It makes him sound like a poof, not that there's anything wrong with that

Jibbed.

he's so fucking injury prone.

I really hope he doesn't go the way of Kewell in terms of injuries.

The club should do whatever has to be done to get the problem fixed for the long term.

He has to be injury prone.

There'd be a massive disturbance in the force if not, cos it'd be out of balance with him being so perfect in every other way.

If he never got injured he'd be simply too perfect & the universe would implode knowing it'd never get any better that this.

What was his injury record like at Athletico like, did he miss many games ?

If he needs surgery were better of getting it done straight away and hopefully get it sorted once and for all.

I disagree. If Drogba is the yang, Torres must be the yin, and Drogba hasn't on the whole been that injury prone. There must be balance in the force.

Drogba will get properly injured one day.

Real Cisse like leg breaker.

Don't know about that. He'll probably have a long and healthy career, and die at the age of 107 of natural causes. People like him never get what they rightfully deserve.

Oh, its on my Christmas list for sure, just being realistic.

Evans already tried. I could watch that over and over.

Drogba gets hurt at least 20 times a game, he's just a fast healer.

Ha ha. Very good.

I thought Drogba does miss at least 10 games (apart from being seriously injured 20 times a game) a season through injuries... at least that is my impression

He does and he has had some big injuries just not this year.

He hasn't stayed fit for a full season since he scored 30.

[move]NO TORRES FOR BLACKBURN GAME, I REPEAT, NO TORRES FOR THE BLACKBURN GAME ![/move]

Fernando Torres has been ruled out of Liverpool's trip to Blackburn Rovers despite returning to training after a groin injury.

The Spanish star has missed the last three games with his problem, but he has been making good progress with the injury.

It was hoped Torres could return to the squad for the trip to Ewood Park, but Reds boss Rafa Benitez has confirmed the striker will not feature against Rovers this weekend.

"He has been training with the team - not full training sessions but part of them," Benitez told the club's official website. "He's doing well but he will not be ready for this game.

"He could be ready for Fiorentina. He was doing some exercises with the team and with the football but it's too soon.

"Maybe next week it will be easier."

Didn't we use to have a nasty record against BB in terms of injuries their players inflicted upon ours? Guess its better to have a fully ready Torres for the Arsenal match then risk him in this one anyway.

If he risks Torres against Fiorentina, then he has clearly lost the plot. *

*Purple should play as many minutes as possible though, apparently he is short of match fitness.

My thoughts exactly. The blackburn defenders will undoubtedly kick the shite out of him.

Both of them need game time.

Yep...Don't think Torres should start Wednesday, but he should be given 20 minutes..

What are the games that we're saving these players for? Given that we're out of the League and the proper Euro Cup.
