Thank god for this. We need some like a Torres (2007 - 2009), not this wanker.

'Atletico Madrid negotiating Fernando Torres return with AC Milan'

ESPN FC's Sid Lowe is at a loss for words with the rumours Fernando Torres may be returning to his boyhood club of Atletico Madrid, as he questions if he will ever escape from his poor form in recent years.
Atletico Madrid are in talks with AC Milan over a deal that could see Fernando Torres return to the Spanish capital, according to widespread reports.
Torres left Chelsea for Milan on a two-year loan deal in the summer that was set to take him to the end of his contract with the London club, but he has struggled to live up to expectations in Serie A and there have been claims -- played down by the Rossoneri -- that the agreement could be cut short.
The Guardian reported on Monday that Milan were holding talks with Atletico in the hope that, by freeing Torres to return to Spain, they can secure a deal for Alessio Cerci, who has struggled at the Calderon since his summer move from Torino.
Marca now believes Torres is "closer than ever" to playing for Atletico again, while AS reported that negotiations are underway and backs The Guardian's claim that Cerci is key to the deal, although the Madrid-based newspaper believes the Italian would prefer a move to Inter.
AS adds that Atletico coach Diego Simeone had sent a list of targets to the club's sporting directors on Dec. 12, with Torres the first choice and Bayern's Xherdan Shaqiri, Arsenal's Lukas Podolski and HNK Rijeka's Andrej Kramaric suggested as alternatives.
The Guardian and Marca suggest Torres' 150,000-pound-per-week wages may be a stumbling block, but AS believes the player is willing to compromise to secure a move back to the club at which he made his name.

Fernando Torres has scored only one goal in 10 Serie A appearances for Milan.
The 30-year-old had left Atletico to join Liverpool in 2007 and Rojiblancos president Enrique Cerezo had earlier told AS he would not rule out a deal for the striker.
"There is no Torres deal, but that doesn't mean that it's not going to happen," he said. "We have a great team with all positions well covered. Until the transfer window is closed, there is always the possibility of bringing a player in."
Atletico assistant coach German Burgos also told COPE: "I don't want to cause a stir as it is just my opinion, but [a return for Torres] would be wonderful."
There has also been speculation that Liverpool could be keen to re-sign Torres, but Reds boss Brendan Rodgers refused to be drawn on the matter at his news conference on Wednesday.
Rodgers said: "There'll always be speculation. During my time here, there always has been, but as always, I won't comment on any player linked with a move here.
"My concentration is on working with the group that's here. If there's a possibility to strengthen in January, we'll take a look at that, for the right type of player."
FIFA rules stipulate that players cannot represent more than two clubs in a single season but, as Torres did not play any competitive football for Chelsea this season, he would be eligible to play for another club this season.

They're paying Borini 90k a week Glen....

Where the hell did you get that figure from? He's on 2.9m a year which is around 55k a week. He wanted 90k a week to go to QPR. Plus as wrong as they it was i guess they saw a young player who would still have sell-on value. Torres has no sell-on value and scores 2 goals a season.

On here. Where did you get that figure from?

Admittedly that's better than the Italian brothers but we shouldn't have Torres back.

I have only ever seen that 90k figure as what he wanted from QPR. Quite possibly to put them off rather than being a greedy fuck.

He's been playing out wide a lot though, and he's 19. A bit early to judge his goalscorer skills imho. He has every attribute to be a cracking player.

I said that he's probably not the answer for us in January (for £5 extra millions).

If he's free, I'll take him. In a funny sort of way, he'll fit Rodgers style, a lone striker who will get behind the defence. At Chelsea, where he quickly found out that it's not all about money, he was completely lost. As is Balotelli in our system.

Er, there's a small issue of his wages...

Torres during his Rojiblancos days.

Fernando Torres is on his way back to Atlético de Madrid. Miguel Ángel Gil Marín reached an agreement with Chelsea and AC Milan on Christmas Eve to bring the centre-forward back to the Vicente Calderón where he will remain until June 2016.
Torres will join Diego Simeone’s squad next week. Alessio Cerci meanwhile will go in the opposite direction – joining AC Milan for this weekend’s friendly against Real Madrid in Dubai.
Torres returns on the express wishes of Simeone who put in a request to sign the player last summer but Gil Marín was unable to carry the operation through. El Cholo reiterated his desire to bring Torres back home three weeks ago, when the Atlético board gave the green light to re-sign their former player.

Torres left Atlético in July 2007 to join Liverpool in a 35 million euro deal. At Anfield Torres blossomed into one of the top strikers on the continent, beating club records and converting himself into a Kop idol. Chelsea paid 60 million euros for the forward in the January 2011 transfer window – a record between clubs in the Premier League. Last Summer Torres was farmed out on loan to AC Milan but he has spent just five months in Italy and in a question of days will be back at his lifelong club.
