Fuck. I hate internationals.

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres limped out of a training session with the Spanish national team on Wednesday night after suffering a groin injury.

The talismanic forward abandoned La Roja's preperations ahead of their World Cup qualifying double header with Armenia and Bosnia-Herzegovina as precautionary measure and continued to work out in the gym.

The 25-year-old should be fit for Saturday's match at the Republican Stadium although coach Vicente del Bosque, who is already without hamstrung Valencia forward David Villa, is unlikely to take any kind of risk with the 25-year-old as Spain have already qualified for World Cup 2010.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez will be keen to have his star striker returned safely to Anfield as Torres has been in top form so far this season, scoring eight goals in just seven Premier League games.

Spain also have concerns over Barcelona midfielder Xavi and Fenerbahce striker Dani Guiza who pulled out of the training session.

It's impossible to comment without knowing the severity of the strain. It doesn't sound especially serious.

Him missing these next two games could prove to be in our interest.

At least it's not the hamstring.

Groin problems can still be a bastard to get over though.

Sometimes they feel good and sometimes they don't Mark. Depends who's involved I guess. 😉

Just what I was thinking. It could go at any time if there is a 'little niggle'.

Hopefully Spain will win the world cup and he can retire from international football (oh if only). I get really nervous everytime he goes on international duty...the spanish boys must kick him around the place in traing coz he always says englands more physical.

Groin can be worse than Hamstring.

We cannot afford to lose Torres.

Having said that we stuffed Utd without him last year so there is always hope.

Even though Villa's already out, Spain don't really need Torres right now.

They've already qualified with maximum points and could afford to give him a rest.

Look at Gerrard - a year on and I think he's still got a problem.
