And while I don't believe that all the players who represent liverpool, both past and present, feel the same way about Liverpool as I do, I really think that many of them do.

If he doesn't go now he'll more than likely go in the Summer. I don't think he'll go now, but let's be honest, this is a sign of things to come and now everyone knows about this £50m clause, it's there for the taking in 5 months if we don't pull off something miraculous.

I'm kind of in between you and Anita here, no we shouldn't fret over every bid, but I agree that he hasn't covered himself in glory of late either. He's sulked like a fucking kid, and that's not because he's getting kicked from pillar to post on the pitch.

Rosco, maybe I', a gullible victim of PR too, but I really believe Torres loves and respects our history, and that he is someone who respects football tradition in general. I'm not saying he doesn't have ambitions in the game that might mean he could leave at some point, but I do think he'd never play for one of our prem rivals and he'd never play for Real. I believe that and if that makes me a fool, well so it goes.

Real is one thing though, it's like Gerrard going to Utd or Everton, he never would. But even he considered Chelsea.

Torres left Athletico, the team he loves cos he wants to win things, why would anyone think he loves us too much to leave for the same reason? It's totally unrealistic.

Chelsea are hardly flying though either. If he wanted the big medals, surely he'd hold out for Barca who are bound to come beckoning one day. I know the Chavs are in a better position (than us) financially to compete, but still, that means fuck all when there are at least three other teams able to compete one way or another on an even keel.

If he doesn't want to stay then he can hand in a transfer request. Loyalty bonuses are paid out for loyalty. If he has no loyalty, or affinity for the club, then he should go. We need people committed to the cause not their own ego.

Torres won't go in the January window and if he choses to go in the summer then I have no problem provided we get what we want. No point in keeping players who don't wanna be here.
