I think Arsenal will start off strong then fade because teams will sustain injuries and they lack squad depth. The haven't had to really play against the low block

I expect them to struggle a bit but mostly because of too many new faces, not because they'd be worse off with the personnel. Their defensive options are obviously a downgrade from last year but midfield looks stronger with Gallagher coming in, Sterling is much better than Werner and Lukaku scored only 2 league goals more than Broja did for a shit Southampton side.

Agreed Spurs look the best bet for 3rd, as weird as that sounds

Is sterling much better than Lukaku and Werner? Broja I'm not seeing the hype over. He's a workhorse and that's all I've seen.

The midfield is still reliant on 2 people being fit all year; kovacic and maybe kante. The balance is completely off otherwise. Gallagher I'm not concerned about as he won't be afforded as such possession as he got at palace, nor will he maraud forward as much.

I'd agree they'll probably come closest to doing so, but I don't think they'll fully manage it.

Conte will throw his toys out the pram when the team doesn't gel overnight, but agree they look the third strongest at the minute

I don't think they'll do it either. But I'd be surprised if they weren't in touching distance of 2nd by april

Well he's a wasteful little cunt but he scored more than both of them combined last season anyway

In a free scoring city side. Not convinced he'll get anywhere near as many for chelsea

This story is croping up in some news feeds. .

This.

Both Sterling and Rahem have only played in attach minded teams - don’t think either of them will enjoy Chelsea’s defensive style.

It just be me but the Cucurella fee seem insane. Great business for Brighton though.

No, it's completely insane. He's a decent player, nothing more, and they were taken to the cleaners.

Though... there must be something about him because he annoyed me last season.

Classic statement signing.
When even Man City is put off by the price, that should tell you something. But they went ahead just to show they're still in the Big Boys Club. £55m, when they have another £50m starting left back on the books.

Brillant by Brighton though. I love the way they're playing this. White, Bissouma, and now Cucurella all sold for super profits and their team is hardly affected.

The "problem" with making these big profits on transfers is that other clubs are well aware of how much you have to spend, so they'll ask for more.
Obviously, that's kind of a good problem to have.

Great work by Brighton getting top dollar. But losing Bissouma and Cucurella is a massive hit to their season depending on how they replace them.
They’ve lost two of their best players.

They've "replaced" Cucurella with a loanee from Chelsea.

Replacing Cucurella with a 19 year old CB doesnt sound like a move that will contribute to a good season.
Knowing Bloom and Brighton they’ll make some good transfers with the 62 mill.
But they’ll need to hit the right ones.

Man Utd looking to spend £10m on 33YO Anrnautovic.

I almost feel sorry for them.

Actually, who am I kidding - he’s shit - I hope they sign him.

Bye, Werner. Yet another striker horror story at Chelsea. At least it’s quieter in Leipzig, so he’ll enjoy it.

Didn't we ever dodge a bullet there. I'm by no means always right about transfers but I was never convinced he'd be suited here when we were being linked with him.

Actually, was listening to the radio, and Brighton seem to have actually prepared themselves well for this situation now and the future. They have some connections in South America, and have been looking at young talent who they think could be potential replacements for those that they may lose . So they had this kid 18 year old they they got out on loan to a European club, in the hope that he would slot into Bissouma role after he left. Seems to have worked well for the. Based on weekend evidence.
