The bitters have all been saying Rodwell is 'Gerrard with class' obv half to wind us up, but fucking hell that's a way to stamp your mark.
If he is anywhere near that good, they won't get to keep him, so I'd just ask them how much they're enjoying their last teenage prodigy.

1511: Adam Hammill sets up both goals for Daniel Bogdanovic to give Barnsley a 2-0 lead at Cardiff.

Found his level it seems...

Chelsea one up at Wolves Drogba - he probably would have been player of the season if it werent for the African nations tournament causing him to miss 5 weeks

Not sure about that, with Rooney in the form of his life, but Dogbreath's some player all right. He's got something like 24 goals already this season despite having been away.

yeah its between him and rooney alright but look at the games he missed, Chelsea were playing the dreggs of the league and you would have to imagine he would have boosted his tally there in the big games hes miles ahead of rooney

in chelseas 4 games agaisnt us Aresnal and Utd Drogba scored in every game and has 6
in Utds 4 games against us Arsenal and Utd Rooney has 2, both against Arsenal, 1 was a penalty

Just my opinion but if he hadnt been away for 5 weeks i think hed be nailed on for player of the year

My cousin, a diehard sensible blue whos' opinion I take 100% factual where Everton are concerned, insists this kid will a) Be playing CM for Manchester United in 2 years time and b) He will be England captain within 5 years. That is how highly he rates him, and from the little I have seen of him, I am impressed too.

The hype does seem to be growing.

The least Everton could do is stop selling their wonderkids to Utd.

the few times Ive seen him he does look class, I think they will keep him for another season at which point he will be a first teamer and then probably out of Utds reach financially given the new constraints in place, I have a feeling he may end up at Chelsea replacing the aging legs of Ballack or Lampard

Rodwell is superb. He will go to United, for obvious reasons
Which begs the question, how did we miss out on him? Another 'local talent' and the Blues get him ...

I guess makes sense, if you're talented and young, why bother coming to us?

well to be fair we do give kids extended runs in the team, look at insua *sobs*

is that really a factor people are aware of at the age when they join a youth team set up at 14 or younger in some cases, there must be more to it, poor scouting has got to be a huge factor. If we offered him a spot and he chose another club then thats a different matter but Ive never heard any suggestion that we looked at him when he was younger

anyway you cut it our youth team set up has been a blackhole for a decade now, its something that has to be addressed considering our inability to compete with other clubs financially for the top talent

I think our track record of producing young, first team regulars might have played a part in his decision.

Didnt the £18m Mascherano fee quoted include his wages for the first 4 years of his contract which was something like £5m as he was on about £25k when he signed, and the Johnson deal was in part financed by money owed from the Crouch sale

Plus he's a diehard Blue.

Rodwell has looked like he was gonna be fantastic for a while. I just hope Salford can't afford him.

He and his team got fucking dicked in the summer by Christopher Buchtmann though 🙁

I stuck £20 on the Blue Shite at half time at 7/2 8)

I figured that with West Brown and Jonny Evans at the centre of the Scum defence, i.e. football's answer to Jedward, any team in the Premier League should be capable of winning, and so it proved.

;D

wasn't 'Rooney a blue, always a blue' guy?

Anyone see ferguson's interview on sky after the match today? Hilarious. The guy interviewing must be 6'5" ferguson was looking up at him and answering his stupid questions with a face that would turn milk sour. Were you disappointed? Were the players disappointed? Did you think that the fact everton equalised so quickly had a big bearing on the result? Do you think this result will have a bearing on the final outcome?. It just went on and on and you could see ferguson getting more exasperated with every stupid question. When the interview finally ended you could see ferguson shake his head as if to say who is this stupid fucker.

Rodwell's goal reminded me of the game when Rooney stopped Arsenal's Invincible's run. Not exactly the same type of shot but it stopped a run. Will this deflate MU?
What run?
Arsenal's unbeaten run, when Rooney was still a young punk at Everton.
