5 goals in 2 games so far, and look like the best Swedish stiker talent for a very long time.

24 goals in 49 games so far for PSV and at 6'4 he's got the frame to be a good link up player aswell. Still only 24 years old.

Good enough for us? Thats a toughy. I said that about Hangeland, not being good enough, and look what he did in the Premier League.

Roy has a good record with signings like this, but it's a big risk.

For a Swede he has a very Finnish name. Is he from the border country or something?

Ah, right. Thanks for that.

If he does come we'll have a Finnish striker with an Italian dad (LDV) and a Swedish striker with a Finnish dad. What's in a name, eh?

Did you know that Finland is not part of Scandinavia?

*thinks better of waiting for an answer*

Intresting. Did you know that gas has no smell? They actually add the smell in.

Rumours about Given being on the verge of joining Arsenal.

Warren Barton (a good mate of Given's) twittered / tweeted / whatever the fuck you do on that site, last night that Given was definitely going.

Wow, what an ace name!!

Liverpool Prepare Bid for £8m Dutch International: Hodgson Keen On Youngster van Wolfswinkel

Roy Hodgson is set to make a bid for Dutch international striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel as he looks to beef up his Anfield attacking options. The 21 year old Utrecht goalscorer is highly thought of in Holland and has been linked with moves to both Ajax and PSV over the summer and the Liverpool boss is looking to snap up the youngster before the transfer window closes.

Van Wolfswinkel is not as yet a household name but has risen through the Dutch ranks and won his first international cap last week and has started the season well with three goals in his first two matches. The powerfully built forward would be one for the future and is a player Hodgson has sent scouts to observe in recent weeks.

Hodgson will hope that he will be given sufficient funds to bring in new additions before the transfer window closes and the former Vitesse man is valued at around £8m.

He's denied that today and reckons he was only saying Given would be a good fit for the Arse.

MASCH DEAL IN DOUBT?
Panicky stuff in The Daily Mail this morning for Javier Mascherano.

The paper reports that, with Inter Milan signing midfielder Giuseppe Sculli from Genoa yesterday, Inter won't spend some of the money received from the sale of Mario Balotelli on Mascherano, as the Argentine hoped.

The Mail claims 'sources in Milan' reckon that, due to Inter's already heavily-populated midfield, if they make a bid at all it will only be in the region of £12-15million, some way short of Liverpool's asking price.

If the deal doesn't happen, it could be another long year for the Mascherano family, with The Mail suggesting he may even be named in Liverpool's Europa League squad for the game against Tranbsonspor on Thursday.

THAT'S INFLATION FOR YOU
Couple more Liverpool lines for you.

From that same Daily Mail story, they are sniffing around PSV's Swedish forward Ola Toivonen with the vigour of a particularly enthusiastic sniffer dog.

However, the price has gone up rapidly since yesterday, when it was reported he would cost around £5million. Today, he will cost 'at least £8million', after Liverpool watched him three times in a week.

Also, Brad Jones will probably sign at some stage today, after a fee was agreed with Middlesbrough and all his bits and bobs were being checked out by the Anfield medical staff on Monday.

Toivonen apperantly has a release clause in his contract, and we could get him for 7-9 mill depending what story you read.

In the Swedish media they're saying we made an offer last night and that PSV will accept it.

We've watched him several times this season, in both friendlies and league games. Roy attended Swedens game against Scotland aswell.

In those 3 games Toivonen scored 6 goals.

Milner: To hold City talks

Sky Sports News understands that Manchester City have agree a fee with Aston Villa for England international James Milner.

The 24-year-old has been tracked by City for most of the summer and it now appears as though Roberto Mancini will get his man.

Milner has been at Villa's training ground on Tuesday morning but will now travel to Manchester to undergo a medical with the City of Manchester Stadium outfit.

Personal terms are not expected to be an issue for the ex-Newcastle and Leeds United midfielder, who is likely to put pen to paper on a multi-year contract.

Milner was one of Villa's best players last season with an impressive 12 assists for the Midlands outfit while he also weighed in with a healthy seven league strikes.

The talented playmaker featured in Villa's season-opener against West Ham and found the back of the net to wrap up a 3-0 win over The Hammers.

The move is expected to see midfielder Stephen Ireland, who has spent his entire career with City, move to Villa Park as part of the deal.

Real Madrid have completed the signing of Germany World Cup star Mesut Ozil from Werder Bremen.

The 21-year-old was in outstanding form during Germany's run to the semi-finals, and had attracted interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs.

The two clubs are believed to have agreed a fee of about 15m euros (£12.4m) for a player with one year left on his contract.

Ozil will undergo a medical in Madrid on Wednesday.

More to follow.

What an absolute bargain.

It would be funny if he kept Kaka out the side, although I imagine they'll put him on the left?
