Did you see the backheel from VdV to play in Modric - stupidly good.

I'm getting my player of the season bet on early. He's fucking awesome.

Van Der Vaart, just the sort of player we could say no too. Oh.

On here VDV was branded useless, overrated and far away from Liverpool standard prior to transfer deadline.

Going to watch some Matteo magic with WBA.

He's definitely worth keeping tabs on this season.

Yep, he got newly promoted MK dons to league one play offs(finishing 3rd) but lost.
Then he got WBA promoted.
ANd now WBA are doing well and playing good football too.
I will be watching him a lot this season.

I'm happy for him and West Brom, he's a nice guy and I've always had a soft spot for the baggies, so good luck to them.

Even if we beat B'Burn tomorrow we'll still be in the relegation zone (unless we win by 3 or more goals).

The house mates have given the barcodes the win over West Ham. So, we avoid the bottom of the table for another week at least (here's hoping we don't lose heavily tomorrow).

West Brom up to 4th.

I reckon Di Matteo is a great shout to be our next manager.

Premier League experience (playing and managing)
Speaks English
He's on the rise
Plays good football
He's bound to have good European contacts

If we cant get him now then just stick Kenny in charge and get Di Matteo on an agreement to take over next season (assuming he carries on his good form). Everyone's a winner.

He's a far better shout than the likes of the young Spanish managers being touted, primarily because of his experience in England.

Every season some unfancied team manages to get into some ridiculous position at the start of the season. Let's see how things play out over the course of the season before we start sucking his dick, eh?

Yeah, like Fulham last year...

Yeah, let's just appoint Mourinho.

As you'll see oin my original post, I reserved judgement until the end of the season. However, if we want a promising, young manager, Di Matteo is shaping up to be a prime candidate

I can't see it.

It's the bit in brackets

If Di Matteo falters then obviously we can walk away but if he does well then we should be looking to be in the frame assuming we haven't sorted it out beforehand or Kenny is flying.

You said "if we can't get him now", which implies you'd like to get him now. And the fact that you'd opt for someone on the basis of a few wins before the league has really started to take shape over someone who has proven he can work with name players and take teams into the CL just made me raise my eyebrows a little.

Anyways, I don't really know why I'm being a dick about this and I've got nothing against Matteo who seems to be doing well so far, so yeah whatever. We'll see what happens.

Keni is right.

Di Mateo could just be the next Steve Coppell. Winner of two successive manager of the year awards.

And where is he now?

After Roy, I think winning the Manager of the Year award should automatically rule them out of the running!

Whilst it would be ideal to get a top, proven manager, there doesn't really seem to be anyone who jumps out, which is the problem. I'd stick Kenny in charge but put of the young, managerial options, Di Matteo is currently ahead of his equivalents in Spain whom everyone has been suggesting
