Really? I always considered myself one of Wonderman's bigger fans and I don't recall anyone calling him better than Mascher. Ever.

"Theres no doubt in my mind that lucas could be a great midfielder for us.....BUT he'll never be as good as mascher. I still think lucas plays best when relied on to be the box to box player we bought. He's made plenty of late runs in to the box and willing to have a strike and his passing ability ha come one in leaps and bounds."

But I did believe in Markovic. Totally. I was in Serbia as the deal was going through and everyone there were on about how he was going to be their best player ever, all the other big sides wanted him. If he had all that talent at such a young age then he just must have given up trying. Thought fuck this, I don't like it very much. I mean at least you couldn't level that shit at Lucas. He tried his best, he was just fucking shite.
I think Lucas had his wings clipped by Benitez. When we signed him, he was a box-to-box midfielder, but he was assigned the role of defensive midfielder, which he was unsuited for in view of his slow pace and inability to tackle without fouling. Benitez kept him locked in his cage throughout.

I agree that Lucas has many intangible advantages. Unfortunately he also has one main tangible disadvantage. Namely, he's shit.
I love watching Lucas play because it gives me an idea of what a twat I would look like if I was just dropped into a Premiership game. With a Deirdre Barlow bouffant wig on.
I reckon if I could pack my job in and train solid for 3 weeks, I wouldn't be any worse than Lucas.
