Quite the opposite really, the signs are getting better with every game I've seen bar city.

Cole will boost the team just as if it were Torres or Gerrard coming in. This will free up Gerrard to move back into a central position.

Raul will kick Lucas to the bench and Konchesky looks 1,000 times better than anything we have had at LB.

Results aside I'm happy and I really believe they will come as will form from Torres.Ad of course a different post would be here if Rafa was is charge because we'd be a totally different team.

there's a video of roy explaining his thinking behind substitutions. he seems to think that you spend all week working on the team and you go for a starting 11 that you think is best. so if you suddenly change your opinion in the game he says that is an act of panic. rather he's developed his gameplan over the week, and its better to stick by it. thats what roy thinks.

in other words... he figures out his gameplan in theory. on paper. with no evidence or indication of whether it will pay off or not. its just pure theory.

then come saturday when he is faced with the actual reality of it not working. it is put to the test and it does not work on the pitch. in his galactic stupidity, he decides to still stand by his theory. until 80 minutes. then he makes a change.

I like that there are 4 midfielders who can defend and contribute going forward, a creative no. 10, and a solid as fuck defense, and konch and kelly will support the attack rather than be it.
