After next weekend whatever may come I think we will have a decent run of form.

Looking are our first 11 it looks very promising.

Reina
GJ
Carra
Skittles
Konchesky
Juan
Gerrard
Cole
Maxi/Babel
Jova
Torres

That's a pretty impressive team and one that will beat alot of sides home and away.

Looks like most people are down after a draw against a team that conceded the least amount of goals last season at home.

A team that are unbeaten in 12 months at home.

A team that held Utd Arsenal and City and Chelsea last year.

0-0 was not a bad result at all.

It's Raul not Juan.

Meh.

Sure when you've seen juan you've seen them all.

Boom boom.

Well, as for all of Rafas draws, the pain is not the result. it is our approach to the game combined with the reluctant to adress tactical issues along the way which is crappy. A 2-0 lead to brummies would have vern deserved at half time, and our response was to wait another 34 mins to correct anything.

If we continue to play like this for the rest of the season, and the owners refinance. Then this is definetly Torres last season here.

IF, Roy gets the midfield right, things might actually start to look a bit more positive. But the first 45 mins yesterday, made me just want to turn of the tv and spend my time on something completely different.

Not bad, Dreamy, not bad at all. 😉

Things don't look positive at the moment. We look ordinary.

On paper we have the players, I'd agree; but we must be more purposeful.

Setting up to contain a mid-table club is negative, setting up with Meireles to drive us on would have been positive.

We need to look like we mean business.

I'm absolutly dreading next sunday. If we line up like yesterday, it will be another City result/game.

6 days to go, and I'm shitting bricks already.

But as far as positve goes, at least we've kept a clean sheet for two straight games, if we just got the attacking side of the game going, we could actually win some games and play some decent football.

There's a Hebrew term for what I believe Pat is doing ... it's called 'davka'.

I don't know if there's a translation for it in English but it's basically Dreamy posting this lark, despite the many worrying signs we're seeing already, when we all know what the post would be today if we started the season with the same team & results and Rafa was still the Gaffa.

In fairness though, Wizzy, Roy doesn't have a background of years of doing the same thing - on the contrary, this is only his fourth league game in charge, and we've at least made a start on addressing some of the problems. I for one am gonna wait at least until the clocks go back (end of October) before beginning to form any overall views, and I say that as someone who wanted Kenny appointed rather than Roy.

I thought I was the only one who's a bit tired of DB's constant proclamations that everything is rosy just because Roy, and not Rafa, is in charge.

I think Dreamy just likes being out of step with everyone else. When we were thrashing United and Real, he was dourly pessimistic. Now we're fluking goalless draws at Birmingham, his heart resounds with optimism.

Even that hypothetical first team looks pretty ordinary to me - mainly because a choice of Maxi/Babel and Jovanovic on the wings is pretty rubbish. IMO our best team will end up being:

Reina

Magic - Carra - Agger - Konchesky

Poulsen

Kuyt - Gerrard - Meireles - Cole

Torres

How exactly do things look positive?

Yeah, so went to a team who defend well at home and only went away with a point rather than off the back of a 3,4-0 drubbing because of Pepe, things are from rosy based on yesterday's performance.

Fucking hell - 2 weeks ago, we just about eek out a win against West brom and then yesterday we sneak out with a point.

I should be worried about the match next weekend but we can't possibly perform that poorly again and as per I always fancy our chances in this fixture regardless of form or league position.

I think you would have to be an idiot to associate the word 'positive' with anything connected to Liverpool Football Club right now, but I don't think things are as bad as people are making out.

- Konchesky had a decent debut and I'm confident he'll keep the LB spot his own and improve our defence.
- Meireles comes with a fine reputation, and was purchased at a very reasonable price
- Joe Cole on a free is a bit of a dream signing given our financial circumstances.
- Lucas and Poulsen surely won't be paired together frequently. Poulsen looks a dud, fair enough - but Insua's gone and Roy' appears like he's making way for Lucas to leave.
- We've had a very tough start to season. We were all saying it when the fixture list came out, and again when Roy took over - it seems stupid to forget this now.
- We'll finish 5th-7th this season, but it will be without all the bullshit behind the scenes - a cloud of negativity has been lifted, IMO.
- We'll stay like this until new owners finally come in, and no doubt Hodgson's position will be put under mild scrutiny.

Let's just get on with it.

there's a video of roy explaining his thinking behind substitutions. he seems to think that you spend all week working on the team and you go for a starting 11 that you think is best. so if you suddenly change your opinion in the game he says that is an act of panic. rather he's developed his gameplan over the week, and its better to stick by it. thats what roy thinks.

in other words... he figures out his gameplan in theory. on paper. with no evidence or indication of whether it will pay off or not. its just pure theory.

then come saturday when he is faced with the actual reality of it not working. it is put to the test and it does not work on the pitch. in his galactic stupidity, he decides to still stand by his theory. until 80 minutes. then he makes a change.

"oh in my notebook lucas is a good player. nevermind what's happening on the pitch. it's it's written down in my notebook" you fucking ridiculous drooling old cunt
