If the current trend continues, we'll have a similar thread on here in a few months.

Unlike RAWK though we'll always keep the naysayers.

Look at that justicefloyd. On rawk he'd well be banned

Thats the mail I got when they banned me from RAWK...Id questioned why they deleted the post from a guy that was genuinely defending Carra...

Hello,

In response to your question:

"6,000,000 posts... How many have been deleted?"

Total Posts: 6,836,138
Posts deleted: 439,983 (or 6.43%)

Hope that clarifies your question?

Tara.

About Rafa, he just said his time at Inter was a quite a succes considering he didnt get the support from his owners. And Leonardo got better results because Moratti bought the players he wanted. Same old same

I usually check out Lucas threads on RAWK when I'm bored or need a laugh, the latest 60-odd page thread contains all of these on a single page :

Personally there isn't a Liverpool player I enjoy watching more than Lucas Leiva.

Gerrard hasn't got the tactical nous to play in Lucas's position.

he combines a lot of the best aspects of both Alonso and Mash into one player

I'd personally be pretty gutted if Lucas isn't our next captain

I don't know which is worse, the thought police running that site or the posters so pathetically keen to suck up to them.

Me too, I hope he takes a job by next season though, so as not to live off former glories...Fergie said the other day that the jobless benitez isn't his friend...

"In life, time can tell you yes or no and if you were right it says yes," Benitez told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"And here I am, it (life) has told me because they bought, showing that they needed to.

"In my pre-season we bought no-one, after me they bought four players and let six go.

"The problem is they needed to do it sooner, to buy and rejuvenate. Had they done that with me we would have won a lot.

"But maybe Inter missed an opportunity.

"It's like Alexis Sanchez (then at Udinese), a great signing for Barcelona.

"I asked for Sanchez in January and back then he would have cost half as much.

"They gave me many promises but they didn't buy anyone."

Benitez didn't go as far as claim he would have won the league had he stayed with Inter but pointed out that one of the club's January signings made a huge impact.

"I honestly don't know (if Inter would have done better) but in January Inter also bought (Giampaolo) Pazzini," he said.

"Do you know how many points Pazzini brought the team, 18. With 18 points, from his decisive goals, maybe I too would have gone a long way."

Despite his bitter experience, Benitez admits he would consider a return, but that may be in no small part to his insistence he will only take a job with a team that could win the Champions League.

"Yes, maybe I would return, but there would need to be some clarification, I don't have problems with anyone," he said.

"It was a great experience for me, I won two trophies in six months and amongst those was the one that president (Massimo) Moratti and all Inter fans had wanted for years, the Club World Cup."

And Benitez says he hasn't been short of offers since December.

"Three teams in Spain, two in Germany, two national teams in Asia and Africa have approached me but let's just say I'm waiting for the right time and the right project."

Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has obviously had a serious and long-term effect on his former Premier League rival, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Accoding to the Daily Express, during a recent interview in the offices of an Italian newspaper, Fergie noticed a photo of Benitez on the wall. Pointing to it, he is reported to have said: “He is jobless and he is not a friend of mine”.

The veteran United man then went on to wax lyrical on the subject of Jose Mourinho, another former foe of Benitez.

“Jose is a good friend of mine, ” explained Fergie. “He doesn’t hide his emotions. I like that in human beings. The good thing about Jose is he can laugh at himself.”

“After a game we have a glass of wine, we talk about a million things. He is a good man but is young, maybe in four or five years’ time he will be more calm.”

Is Ferguson preparing the groundwork for the arrival of “the Special One” at Old Trafford in a few years, or is he simply trying to get at Benitez just for the sheer fun of it?

Is the Lucas thing a man crush? I never got it myself. He an average player, that has improved. What's to love about that?

I have much more affection for Rafa than I do resentment.

If anyone thinks that make me "stupid" or "mental" I truly could not give a fuck.

" I had a bid for Suarez prepared before the World Cup in 2010", said Benitez, who was known to be an admirer of the Uruguayan. "I had an offer, that was to be accepted, I was told by inside sources at Ajax for 12M", said the former Liverpool Boss who also revealed he was offered Andy Carroll for 10M in 2009-2010 by then boss Chris Hughton. "But along with the Suarez deal, I was told Christian Purslow didn't want to buy new players until the end of the season ".

Or, as its known, saving face

I've never bothered with any other site. I get enough stimulation here. Rawk, Sven and Kanwar make me cringe.

On the other hand, I find that 6CM is well balanced and the banter is great. We have all types of characters here which is great.

Rafa will be a good pundit. As for Wenger, maybe he's planning for the future the way things are turning out for the Gooners.

I'm a lover not a hater so good memories last longer than bad ones with me. If I think of Rafa I think of the CL final win and that's about it. It was amazing, it was unique in many ways and it won't be bettered by anyone, given the situation. But he's an ex. Like when I think about that one bird sucked me off on a jetty while I drank margaritas and snorted a nosefull. I don't think about the time later when she came at me with garden shears, at least not when I wank, and even when I do blank out the bit where she threw my car keys down the grid and told the police it was because she knew I'd taken too much gear to drive - and I'll always remember fondly the time she brought this romanian girl home, who couldn't speak any english but was oddly complicit to all our demands.

i think they just hate any sort of criticism of our players/managers over there, and go way too far in the opposite direction to compensate. there's a similar defensiveness going on about andy carroll now - even the mildest comments are leapt on with an almost rabid indignation.

[/quote]Verbatim what i was gonna say.

I liked Rafa but he's in the past.

I thought he tried mightily to be a good and successful manager for us, his trophy winning record is quite good. On balance I think he helped more than hindered us.

He made managerial mistakes and was replaced as many managers are. Thank you and goodbye is all that's needed.

He came across as a decent guy and family man; and along with his wife did a bit more than just football.

I genuinely don't understand the cynicism, abuse or sarcasm said about him or his motives.

As for his website - it's just a website! I wouldn't bother with it, suggest others do the same.

Former Liverpool boss and Eurosport football analyst Rafael Benitez admits Barcelona will be a tough nut to crack in the Champions League as he tackles the big issues.

What is your opinion on Barcelona? What is the secret to their success?

When I was with the youth team in Madrid, I played against Barcelona and all of them played 3-4-3. All the teams played the same system, the same passing game. Imagine 14 or 15 years later doing the same thing. Now they have some good players and a system that suits them, which make them happy to play together. Also, they have a manager coming from their academy who knows the mentality. They are in a situation where everything works. You can see the fans, the managers and the players all pulling in the same direction. .

You have said that the Premier League is more difficult than La Liga. Why is this the case and how does Serie A compare?

La Liga is very close to the Premier League but Serie A is now two steps below. The key factors are in the challenges made and pace of the game. The highest intensity is in the Premier League. You have good players in Serie A but you have to approach the game differently in the Premier League - it is so difficult with the physical element stronger than other leagues.

Do you think the Bundesliga is underrated?

For me it is clearly higher than Serie A, because you can sample the intensity of the game. This is something I will analyse, but you notice the atmosphere around the football in Germany - the desire to score and high competition between the teams is tremendous.

Do you think a Portuguese club or a French club can win the Champions League? Are they prepared well enough by their domestic championship?

If you have time, you can build something. You can make some mistakes but if you have time, generally, you obtain consistency. Porto have the right experience, but they have to keep some players. If you keep the skin of the team, they will grow. Lyon and Marseille are OK now. They have experience of the Champions League, but they have to keep the structure of the team and then they will progress. You never know. The level of the championship can be a factor but in France, you have more teams now with Marseille, Lyon, Paris and Lille. You have more competition, and that increases the chance of teams doing well in Europe.

You won the Champions League without being a big favourite in 2005. If you could give two or three key factors that can lead you there, what would they be?

We had the commitment of everyone. The fans were behind us, and there was understanding between the players and the staff. We were studying every game very carefully. Everybody talks about the final, but we made very good things happen in every game before that. We beat Chelsea, Juventus, Olympiacos and Bayer Leverkusen. We made very good games tactically. We changed the system every time, We changed during the final to a 3-4-2-1. The understanding was terrific. We understood we could do it when we beat Juventus in the quarter-final. It was the highest level, because they had beaten Real Madrid when Fabio Capello was there. If you beat Juventus, you can do it. In the semis it was Chelsea who were winning everything in the Premier League. The fans were so passionate in supporting Liverpool.

Who is the best player in the world? Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo?

Both of them are fantastic. But you have to fix your system to make them as good as possible. Messi has freedom because he can make the difference. But what is freedom? People always talk about freedom, but the manager has to be sure of the potential and the quality of the player. Messi has all these things, Cristiano the same. You have to manage the team around them, but you have to be sure the team still have solutions if they can’t play.

Do those types of players have positions?

You can give freedom to players but you have to be sure they have the quality AND the mentality to give something back to the team. Some people have confusion between freedom and an 'I will do what I want' situation. The rest of the team has to know what he will do, and has to feel he will give something back to the team. You have to know what you have to do in each part of the field. Freedom for me is to do the right thing in the right place at the right time, nothing more. Changing the team organisation is fine, as long as everybody knows what role they are expected to play.
