Yes, course there is, and all likelihood is they'd have done marginally better. How can you be sure though? Kopking seems to assume that based on the past achievements of a manager, it automatically makes his future just as good.
You answered your own question. When Torres is sold and Hodgson smiles, doesn't kick up a fuss and puts a nice brave face on it, I hope you'll be happy. It's ok 'cos Rafa was a 'twat', right?
KK are you of the belief that if Rafa had not been let go, then all this talk about Torres' future would not be going on?
Yup.
That's bollocks.
I guess we'll never know. I would say however that there was some attempted talk last year that Rafa nipped in the bud straight away, and the figure mentioned was £100m.
Hmmmm. So what could possibly have changed?

If you're struggling - we'd just come second in the league last summer in Torres' debut season. I think it's fair to say that the circumstances are a *little* bit different this summer.

Who is this KopKing twat?

He reminds me of someone, I just can't think who.
opinion contrary to the masses = twat

i don't think that is true. There are some on here who were very pro-Benitez yet were still respected for their argument.

Given the choice between Benitez and Woy, I (and most Liverpool fans) would have gone with Benitez
Errr, Roy is a much better choice than benitez.. and i cant say i agree with you when you say MOST liverpool fans would have kept benitez, because he was very much hated towards the end 🙂
Nobody cares what you think about anything, you massive zlatan
Dont go saying MOST liverpool fans would prefer benitez because in reality your deluded if you think that. Benitez was a fucking tosser
Benitez topped a poll on here, by some distance. Assuming we're fans, most preferred Benitez.

Doesn't matter now anyway, does it? Mr Hodgson's currently in the job.
Sure benitez topped a poll but he also had 6 years to proove himself to us. Roy just started, so give him 6 years to show what he has then we will compare
Rafa's team won the Champions League in his FIRST year. That's proof enough for me. Let's see what Hodgson wins this year.
And what did he win after that? Pretty much NOTHING. So over 6years, id say roy has a decent chance of being more sucessful. Benitez also ran our club down to 7th after promising a top 4 finish

Yup, that's completely wrong.

And I don't think you're a twat for it. See the difference?

I've never called you a twat, spidey, despite disagreeing with almost everything you say.

And my opinion was 'contrary to the masses' with regards Hodgson. I think Squiggles and I were the only ones who wanted him as our manager.

I think it's a few more than that, Bunnyman. And I'm not expecting miracles ..... at least to start off with. Hodgson is inheriting a squad that was massively fucked up by Rafa over the last couple of seasons.

He finished 2nd with 86 points the season before last Portly, with a fucked up squad?

In large measure due to Alonso, who had his best-ever season for us, despite already having decided to leave the club due to Rafa's infatuation with Gareth Barry.

That's too simplistic Portly, he didn't play in every game. We also had Torres and Gerrard out for long periods (they played about 12 times in the same team). I'd say the squad coped pretty well.

Rafa's infatuation with Barry might have also been in part due to Alonso's poor form the season prior to that summer.

I was with you guys.

I was pretty happy with Roy before his appointment, and stand by that now, and just want people to give him a fair crack of the whip.
It probably sounds unlikely given the opposite ends of the spectrum, but after the Jose pipedream, I think he was the best choice
I do think there are a number of people , quite reasonably, that didn't particularly want Roy, but are at least prepared to afford him a chance to show what he can do and what he can't.

None of the "Fancy Dan" managers whose names were chucked around a few weeks ago would have wanted to go to a club where they would encounter huge expectations, but a threadbare squad and no enormous transfer kitty. When he was still at Inter, Mourinho actually announced that he would not go to a club that didn't have a big transfer budget.

I think we are lucky that Hodgson was willing to take it on.

As if. It was obvious Woy would have crawled to Anfield over broken glass, as he knows it was a job he'd never have been offered under normal circumstances

If you repeat it 1000 times, it may just result in him getting fired tomorrow and then we'll all be happy! 🙂

"Woy" it is then.

I'm sure brendans argument is strengthened no end by having you on board.

Not that I think he, nor anyone else wants him to be sacked, cos that'd be fucking mental.
