I'd fucking love us to sign that Conor Gallagher. Probably not that likely.

From what I’ve seen of him - I’d agree.

Also, Harvey is more likely to slot into that Hendo role - that’s we’re I’d initially look.

He was starting to look the part before the injury - I reckon he’ll be ready to kick on again next season - kind of expected him to take a bit of time to get back into it since his return.

Tielemans is the other layer that’s been mentioned quite a bit that might not cost a fortune.

Tielemans is so fucking slow though, and we're not exactly dynamic in the middle anyway.

I think Harvey is in the dog house for his various antics lol. But he'll come good.

Yeah, I’m not sold on Tielemans - but pace isn’t absolutely necessary in the role - none of our MF’s are blessed with that - I actually can’t think of CMs with great pace - I’m sure there are plenty.

It’ll be interesting to see which MFs we start to get linked with - if any.

Yep, he does seem to lack on pace and doesn't seem to have Fabinho's long legs to get him out of trouble when pace is an issue. Not convinced either on him for our midfield 3 but nice cheap option possibly.

I think I prefer Gallagher. Ramsey is also gonna be good.
Won't cry if we get Tielemans though, even if he isn't the fastest. He uses the ball very well.

Agree with all of that, Gallagher looks perfect but has already been mentioned loads. As far as less attractive options go, I wouldn't be too upset if we got Ward Prowse as a stop gap/squaddie

We need a Viera type of player. He’s the missing link. I can’t think of anyone who fits that description.

Keita was supposed to be that guy, but obviously not.

Yes, he is also decent. It would be a bit of maintaining status quo over it though, rather than improving the first 11.

Keita 🤓

I think of Thielemans as a cover/potential eventual replacement for Thiago – someone who will play close to the DM and mostly hold his position because his recovery pace isn't so great. For RCM role we need something different, a dynamic player who is a direct attacking threat with great energy and pressing ability.

the Trent in midfield thing..

Barnes believes Alexander-Arnold’s attacking strength is superior to his defensive ability but claims that doesn’t necessarily matter when playing for an attacking team like Liverpool.
“Trent Alexander-Arnold does not have a future as a midfielder. He is a right-back and that’s why he’s able to play facing forward,” Barnes said (as quoted by the Express).
“Trent may not be as good defensively as he is going forward, but he doesn’t always have to play teams of Manchester City’s quality. People can say he needs to work on things defensively, but most of the time, Liverpool are on the front foot.
“Liverpool will happily suffer that odd occasion where he plays against a top team like Manchester City. The balance of what he does in a season, versus that time when you come up against tough opposition like Real Madrid or Manchester City, means Liverpool should stomach that for the benefit of what he does in an attacking sense.”

Yes, I agree. Shame Chelsea won't sell Gallagher.

Has anyone watched enough of Dewsbury-Hall to comment/review? Just noticed he's "already" 23 though.

I was waiting for someone to say this lol Chelsea might sell him but not too us.

What about Brighton's Bissouma? (spelling). Looks like a good player, quick, likes a tackle and can play in an attacking team. Maybe we can get him for 35-50m.

I would love Bellingham but for 100m that's not happening.

Isn't Bissouma more of a Fabinho, shielding the defense?

Warming to Bissouma— he made Kane look an ordinary player twice. Will he turn up weekly for a team chasing honours, though?

Not up to date on this. What's he done?
[article]
Brighton and Hove Albion footballer Yves Bissouma can travel to West Africa to play in a month-long international tournament after Sussex Police released him “under investigation”.

Bissouma, 25, and a man in his forties were arrested on suspicion of sexual assault at Arch, a seafront night club in Brighton, in October.
