The Suarez/Evra Racism Row

Nice post Oncy.

The issue isn't really whether you or I think it's nonsense. It's that it's up for debate. The club looks well worse after all this. It's very sad.

Without knowing what the King was referring to we can't know what he was hoping to achieve, and in the absence of that information I trust his judgment.

Yeah, you do. The supporters of every other club plus the majority of the media think he's a stubborn racist sympathiser. Pretty much every football conversation you have with any supporter of any other club for the next year or so, this will come up.

Sadly, I have to agree with this.

Whilst I applaud their stand and I think it was right for them to come out in support of Suarez, and while I think the report undermines the findings of the Commission rather than supports them, the truth of the matter is that only those with a vested interest in the matter will bother to read what it actually says.

Even then, many will simply ignore the parts that do not fit in with their preconceived ideas of what happened.

Most will simply point at the outcome and say "It's a disgrace" without having the slightest clue about what actually went on

Bothered.

It will be releaswed under the Freedom of information Act soon enough, and the World will know whats what then.

Kenny is obviously very very angry at some things, and I trust his Judgement and don't give a FUCK about what fans of any other club think, Fuck them all

I had conversations with two Citeh supporters, a Manc and a bluenose at the gym today. Got joshed plenty about the Citeh result. Not a peep about anything else.

And I don't give a flying f'ck what supporters of other clubs or the media think. Or even *if* they think.

Fair enough if you're not arsed. I am. I've been getting asked about this everywhere I've been lately. My couple of trips to Dublin and Belfast recently have been me saying 'I dunno' or 'I'm not that interested' as a bunch of people who support other clubs have cornered me to go on and on about it.

We're a privately owned company so the act doesn't apply. And it has probably agreed that the hearing transcript is confidential and cannot be disclosed against the FA's or Evra's permission. We'll simply keep it like any other paperwork for 5 years or whatever it is, then the club is free to shred/delete it all.

Asbo, I thought the Freedom of Information Act only applied to state papers. I don't think the state can compel private institutions to release anything.

Wierd, I have been in touch with a lot of old friends from all over the country by phone with the New Year wishes etc, and the Majority of them (none are Liverpool supporters) all say the Clubs been stictched up.

Mind you they are all over 60's and a bit sensible, maybe its an age thing

You and I take different views about the justice of the outcome. Me, I'd have dived straight in and had the argument(s). But then I like a tear-up anyway.

So it will have to be a book then, in a few years time, ofcourse it will all be one sided and unverified, but thats what just happened so Karma in action.

Yeah I've been asked too by loads to which my response is complete and utter stitch up witch hunt and nothing will sway my opinion to the otherwise.

How is that any different from anything else the media and other fans do when it comes to our club. You should be used to it. I am and, like JJ, I really dont give a fuck.

Just a second. We may be privately owned, but the FA isn't and it's their records we're talking about.

I appreciate that but the justice / outcome aren't really the issue for me. I've realised how sick I am thinking about and discussing the off the field stuff that makes up the majority of football discussions these days. I like the game - but as for talking about what goes on in the boardroom, whether contracts, accounts or legal shit - I get enough of that in the day job. I just can't be fucked with any of it any more.

And yet, here I am talking about it again!

And as for seemingly everyone not caring what the rest of the football world thinks of the club. Did you never take pride in how well respected we once were?

It's just people in general Sean.

After the court case I attended there was shit written about it in the papers and on their websites, on the Daily Mail site they had the comments going and there were legions of fuckwits, utterly ignorant of the situation, the context and the circumstances - not to mention the actual evidence - who were convinced they knew better than a judge and a jury who had sat through several days and heard all of the evidence.

Ultimately, and I'm being generous here, about 75% of the population are irredeemable idiots

I know what you mean but that's what the very same self righteous media who constantly slaughter whatever the target of the month is have turned this game into supported by the gossip hungry bellend Sky generation fans who crave their fix of scandal. If you feel that way it's best to ignore it like you have done. Gone are the days where when you talk about football it was just about the actual footy.

And there you have. People form opinions without researching that which they've formed opinions on. We have differences on here about this affair but at least people have taken time to look at the evidence presented. Most people are media herded sheep.

Fans of most other clubs hate us anyway. In England especially. I don't think it will be much of a problem in other countries around the world.
