The issue of pace - or rather lack of it in the absence of Mane - has been discussed at length on various blogs and websites, with Aldo suggesting an advanced position for TAA, and even some (possibly satirical) calls for Moreno to play as a left winger.

I'm not that bothered, as long as Matip is back and we at least think about Lallana moving back into the midfield three.

I think we'll win and get through to the final. Not worried or nervous at all.

No idea why, but all this chat about "team summits" and our poor form, aswell as Klopp's recent interviews, just make me think there'll be a pretty impressive response and we'll batter them.

I think the crux is what you've touched on - move Lallana back into midfield (and bin off Can), and also get Matip back in place of Klavan. That will see us a bit more balanced and dominant again in our half at least. I do think there is a valid arguement for bringing in a youngster on the wing though. Despite the historical quality of Sturridge and Origi being a more pacier option, I think the best option if we are to play Firmino, is to have him either advanced in the centre, or off the striker, but not wide at all. There was plenty of justification for trying Sturridge and Origi, but it hasn't worked out well for various reasons. Firmino looked much better in the centre against Swansea, but we need more players to support him and to make the forward central runs when he does pull wide, or we are going to carry on struggling for goals overall.

the summit and amount of chat has me feeling the complete opposite, im concerned

It is POINTLESS playing Studge and Frimino together as it necessitates playing one of the on the flank for x minutes - which means, you're losing a player for that period of tiem too.

Defense - ok
Midfield 3 - ok

I'd start Wilson, or Ojo ... instead of Studge. Why? Because they'll be able to do more on the flank than either Firmino or Studge, and most likely give us something we're lacking right now ... pace.

It isnt pointless but I get your point. Maybe Ojo or Wilson deserve a chance. I cant see it happening mind and we might see a front 2 with Studge Or Origi and Firmino and revert to a diamond in midfield. Will be interesting to see what team Klopp picks.

It again highlights that we lack a certain player type when Mane isnt available. Ojo and Wilson are certainly in that mould but if they are ready or not is another question.

I was already concerned. I'm not saying everything is going to be fine now, but I'm certain we will see a huge reaction tomorrow, at the very least.

Weirdly I find it unlikely that he's prepared to throw any youngster in on the wings, especially given his propensity to try anything last season. I'd have origi in over sturridge though, no doubt

Does anyone know a place near Euston that will show this tonight that isn't stupid expensive? Thanks in advance

Ive seen a few matches in the rocket, its always been busy in there, its a fairly small old pub just outside of euston , they will defo have it on and have plenty of screens.

Ive been in a few others round there for matches but cant remember any names bar the Euston flyer but thats your standard fullers pub and itll be ramos for the match, you'll not struggle to find somewhere for watching the match between Kings X and Euston though, just maybe to get a seat and grub and if your coming down to euston shortly before the match.

If you can't make it to the 'Liverpool' pub in Tottenham Court Road (about 15 min walk) which I think is called TCR, then The Rocket should be OK and is about 3 minutes walk from Euston

Come out of the station main entrance and turn left, it's on the same side of the road and is on a corner.

Cheap and fairly big too

Echo saying Clyne hasn't trained today so TAA likely to start.
That's not necessarily a bad thing but TAA has been so impressive so far for someone relatively inexperienced in big games /first team matches that my head says he must be due a learning curve experience...

Fingers crossed he ploughs on and continues to perform.

Oh and if your back that way in the morning get a fry up from the Rocket, it's quality and has cured many a hangover prior to a long train journey.

There is a sports bar right next to Marylebone station which could be a good shout, or The Globe in Baker Street (Spionkop hates it, but I think it is fine)

Marylebone probably the best bet. Hard to say on price as most pubs/ bars in Zones 1 and 2 are generically the same price.

Karius, taa, lovren, matip, milner, hend, wijnaldum, lallana, coutinho, firmino, sturridge.

Apparently thats the team.

Has Sturridge played/started many games with the first xi? hopefully he shows us what he can do. as he's evidently wasted/isolated when playing with the youth teams/ second string.

It'll be a tough game this and if we are going to win we have to win the midfield battle. In Romeu, Højbjerg and Ward-Prowse (if that's Sotons pick tonight) they have got both skill, grit and flair in the engine room.

Will obv. be a big blow for them to lose van D but I am still kinda worried about tonight I have to say..

We have to play at the right tempo tonight as when we pass the ball slowly and deliberately it's all too predictable and easy to defend against. I'd like to see players taking 1 or 2 touches most of the time in the attacking third because that's when we're at our best, moving the ball quickly with players providing options to those with the ball. We haven't done enough of that lately.

I'm begging that we win in 90 mins or I'm getting the 11pm train back from London and totes being late for work tomorrow. With Lallana back in midfield I think we'll win it

Don't worry, we will win and win well.
