The Race for 4th

Unfortunately arsenal normally give us a bum raping at home. Its like we just let them play their passing game and get spanked first and then they finish us off with a good fisting. I think we have only beaten them twice in god knows how the long. I can only think of the time when we won a couple of years ago with meireles still at the club then and then when titi camara scored from a gerrard pass. Has there been any other times i've missed?

You have a short memory Glen. Last season we won 2 - 0, the previous season was 1 - 1.

If we beat Arsenal, I think we'll come 5th, about 2 points off 4th. If we lose I think we'll come 6th.

Quite simply there's no room for anymore of this two steps forward, one step back mullarkey. No more silly losses lads

One thing in our favour is at least 2/3rds of the Prem this year are fuckin codswallop.
Norwich were only about 4 points behind us before the other day and they're seriously dung.
Since the start of December, I've watched us play Southampton, West Ham, Villa, Fulham, Stoke, QPR, Sunderland and Norwich (forget Man U). Those teams range from pure dog shit to mediocre; we won 6, lost 2.

This Man U team are on course to be one of the greatest ever Premiership teams. They're a good side but that statement tells a story.

I don't think we'll get top 4. Top 6 with 60+ points would be better than I expected at the start of the season and would represent good progress. I thought we'd be 8th-10th this season.

But, with the standard as poor as it is, with Spurs, Arsenal, Everton and even Chelsea looking hot and cold, I don't think we'll be miles off 4th (we will be miles off the top but that's neither here nor there).

Mind you, all this will achieve is
1. Encouraging a million "if only we'd won here" or "if only we hadn't hit the post there" threads
2. Encouraging a million "next year is our year" posts

Look forward to that immensely.

I did say in a previous post that I can only remember us winning twice. The time when we still had meireles and when camara scored the winner. The 2-0 was when we had meireles. But the majority of the time we get outplayed just like they did to us this season already. We play such an open game at times and arsenal thrive on that. Just wish that rodgers would sometimes get us playing a tighter game. Lets frustrate them as they hate it when you prevent their passing game and start making mistakes.

What about the Crouchinio hattrick game? I don't think I've seen us have such a cruise against them as that game.

Past history (could it be anything else ?) is no indicator of future performance.

We'll see at Arsenal if BR has learned the Old Toilet lesson. Being too timid in your team selection gives the opposition a boost. I'd love to see a Suarez, Stur, Borini front three give their back 4 a proper examination.

Arsenal are there for the taking. We should go at them from the off. With their shaky defence, we're bound to score a few. We'll beat them

Would prefer to see Sterling, Sturridge and Suarez. Lets get at them!
