There is too much thinking going on around here.
It's a long shot but far from impossible.
It must be really shite being a fan with no hope, no dream, no shred of "if only". Yes, the rest of us build ourselves up to be disappointed, but as the saying goes it is better to have loved and lost than to never loved at all, or to paraphrase - it is better to have been an optimistic fool and come down to earth with a bump rather than be a miserable logical bastard that doesn't get it right all the time anyway.
There are four teams in for once place.
Spurs-The incumbents
Everton- The surprise package
Arsenal - So fragile they could be fine porcelain
Liverpool - Where the fuck did they come from?
I think Spurs are almost as fragile as Arsenal to be honest, they got off to a bad start, improved and are showing signs of stuttering again, I don't think they are as good as last year, they could start struggling again the signings they poached off us have not been great, and if Bale does not show up they are pretty fucked.
Everton, this years Newcastle, been pretty lucky with injuries and suspension, the only difference with Newcastle is they will not see out the season before they go into free-fall.
Arsenal everyone's favourite soft centre choccy, we have them in our sights.
Us. Apparently we are having a shite season, but there we are, three points behind Everton who are having a remarkable one apparently. We gave everyone else a fucking good start too.
We have all seen the way we have been playing, and what has been happening, and it is not a surprise to any of us , is it? We all knew we would struggle when we were short on fire-power already, gave a forward away and did not being anyone in.
Step forward Mr Suarez, and thank you, you have single handedly kept us in with a shout of at least improving last years position.
Now we have a player we should have brought in six months ago, and it's very promising, it's not because it's who he is particularly, but I am very pleased thus far, it's what he is - a striker.
His two premiership goals are something unusual for us, following up on a fumble by the keeper and a tap in in the six yard box from a cross, if we had that for the last six months we would be the incumbent fourth place, in fact we could even have been third, especially not been denied a perfectly good goal in the closing seconds of the Everton game, in fact if it was not for that alone we would be level with the fuckers on 36 points now, and be five points off fourth with the wind under our tail. Oh and he is going to take pressure off Luis too.
We have in ll honesty played very well , toiled hard and out-classed many of the team we lost to and drew with when that forward, Sturridge as it now turns out could would have made a difference. Who knows what a bit of confidence and another couple of signings could do.
As I said thinking too much, after all this blathering you could accuse me of that, and it would be true after all but it's fairly simple, we are the form team of the four and are still waiting to peak, all we have to do is keep grinding away and hope the other teams stutter and drop points and I think that is perfectly possible. We all have to play each other, those results clearly will be crucial, after the City game the stand out game is Chelski at home, which I would be pretty confident about, it's a decent run in.
If we can't believe - who the fuck can?
