I'm in awe of the modern players. Their pace, and passing abilities in tight areas - along with accuracy. It's so impressive. I don't think previous generations were this talented, this precise and this fast

One can't know for sure IMO. A lot of it is down to modern training methods, ideas about nutrition etc.and there are quite a few past players who, I'm convinced, were as talented in themselves as even the best of today's complement.
