The preseason thread

I can imagine everyone storming into klopps office to explain why we do in fact need a cm, only to just gush and pander for a hug.

But yeah, we do need better cms. Mostly because it's much easier to improve on our cms than it is to improve elsewhere, and our cms are getting worse over time.

Agree with that, but we'll most likely get a similar type of CM, i.e.(mostly anyway) jacks-of-all-trades rather than players who specialise in particular MF roles. It's the way Kloppo's been setting our MF up since day one and I can't see him changing overmuch now.

Thiago is looking match ready …he appears to have more muscles ….let’s hope this season is the one for him…

I'd just like to repeat my annual reminder to anyone who is the slightest bit interested in the match tomorrow, or Friday, or any day before August 6th, that pre season matches are somewhat less interesting than watching paint dry.

Bob on to red cafe and they have a full on pre match thread expecting a ‘full strength’ (lol!) line up and a competitive match!

It’ll be two full teams per half with subs on top and nobody giving the slightest fuck as to the score.

I still want to crush Utd even if it is a half-arsed friendly.

There is no joy to be had losing to those fuckers at any point.

It will probably be pretty tight given that some of our first teamers just joined the pre season squad, and the young players will be given a lot of game time.

I like how even Klopp likes the mad greek too.

Can you imagine going to work everyday with so much fun and camaraderie ? Fabio looks like he's gonna fit in very well, with him being multilingual. Optimism = 9/10.

That atmosphere has been and is going to stay absolutely crucial to our ongoing progress IMO. It's that "change from doubter to believer" line which Jürgen came out with in his very first interview being put into practice, it provides an ideal atmosphere in which players can blossom, it enables us to take setbacks in our stride and carry on, and I'd lay odds it gets players wanting to come to us. sometimes in preference to other serious rivals. Long may it all continue.
