Dear january transfer window, I really like you, but I would like also to get back to a kind-of-normal life. Sincerely

"The Times" yesterday said different. According to them the Mancs are not fully convinced Begovic is of the right standard. I reckon they're right to have their doubts. He's decent enough but they need better.

Rodgers just said no more signings.

Been a very good transfer window this, now we just need to sort out the defensive bit in the summer.

We could do with coaching defence, as I'm not sure it's high on the coaching agenda.

But yes, very happy with this transfer window.

“Liverpool are our first choice,” said the agent of Lazio defender Modibo Diakite, although only on a free transfer in June.
The 25-year-old centre-back has only made one Coppa Italia appearance this season due to a contract dispute, as he has refused to sign an extension and turned down several transfer opportunities.
“Liverpool are our first choice for June,” declared agent Ulisse Savini.
“It would be very difficult to say no to a club like that.”
Diakite has also been linked with Juventus in recent weeks and will be a free agent at the end of the season.

Cutting to the chase, is he any good?

Having a very solid season, his best yet, has been in and out of the team before that.

Lazio performing very well in the league, and he's formed a solid partnership along with Biava & Dias in defence.

Available for free at the end of the season? Definitely worth a look at by Rodgers.

I'm always a bit wary of these free-agents to be who're shining in their final season (i.e. final contract year) and playing out of their skin. Will they slink back to mediocrity once they've got the contract they need? It doesn't always end up bad but there's always a risk of something like that happening.

TBH I always find that line of thinking illogical. If you are a young player ( and all players start playing for love of the game ) would you stop giving your best on the pitch just because your contract is winding down ?

We'll begin with reports that Everton want to sign Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo, who's also been linked with Spurs and Chelsea this month.

The 27-year-old Spain international could be available for a cut-price fee with Sevilla in the financial brown stuff.

@LFC_Tongue: LFC look to sign Draxler in the summer. Difference in valuations too wide and Schalke unhappy to let him and Holtby go in the same window.
