The not so Official January Transfer Rumour Thread

Apparently Sneijder's on 6 mill.euros a year. Granted he's pretty much semi-detached from the Inter squad these days and will be wanting regular football, which may help us as opposed to one or two other clubs who might be interested. However, if one assumes he won't be keen on taking a wage cut, will we be willing/able to get close enough to that figure?

Spurs or City I would think. He would probably take a pay cut to go to UTD since they have been long term admirers and can offer him CL and trophies.

Sadly, if we are interested, we would only get him if no one else was interested.

That's £95k/week.

Whilst a very big salary it is way, way lower than other stories have suggested. We're paying Cole that from what's been said.

And Reina.

And if we hasn't extended all three we would have 15m spare each year to spend on someone good.

Reina was given his current contract when he was 27 and it doesn't run out until Summer 2015

Red Water: you could be right, but my sources on Serie A (cousins in Malta who are big enough Juve fans to get to some home games) think this is a working possibility. They haven't commented on Tottenham but they reckon the fact that he'd be less likely to get regular games in Manchester militates against either of the clubs from there. Of course this doesn't take into account the size of any monetary offer those clubs might make to Sneijder, but it would seem that we're being regarded as serious runners in this race.

If that's the case matey I would start to look forward to the second half of the season again. At 28 he should be in his prime, even though the circumstances at Inter have meant he hasn't played much.

Would be the first transfer I have looked forward to in a good while.

Sky sports just announced Ba meeting Chelsea representatives to discuss a move.

Cash back!

Up yours Pardew and Ashley!

He'll probably go for one massive massive pay day.

Big money for a 29 yr old right back ... and he's been linked with a move away in recent times ...

Anyone know the taxing situation in Spain? The Russian deal could be very attractive indeed.

Why though? Of the various midfielders we have, I can only think of Allen (and possibly Shelvey) who's suited in a 4-3-3. The rest - Lucas, Henderson, Şahin, Gerrard and Suso are all pretty patently 4-2-3-1 footballers.

I think they all suit a 4-3-3.

Ok, I disagree. Allen, Suso and Shelvey are players who I think can adapt to a 4-3-3. I don't think Henderson, Gerrard, or Sahin ever will though.

I'd just rather play the formation that requires less adjustment, because frankly I don't have a strong preference of one over the other. I do think though that the 4-2-3-1 is more in vogue in England.

Zaha coming out and saying that he wants to move to the PL asap. How much more than Ince would he cost?
