The new starting 11

Now our incoming transfer business is complete (and I think we've had an excellent summer on that front), we've got a few new players for the first team. I think the midfield and strikers will pick themselves, but how would everybody set up the new team?

On the back of me not being overly impressed with enrique and agger so far this season, I'd go for this:

Johnson.......Toure.......Sakho.......Cissokho
..........................Lucas....Gerrard
.....Moses.................Coutinho..........Suarez
.............................Sturridge


I think ideally we could do with moving Gerrard up next to Coutinho, but I'm not sure Lucas is capable by himself, and I'm not sure if that's now his best position.

Plenty of options for a bench now aswell, maybe just not too many match winners to turn a game out of Aspaz, Alberto, Sterling, Ibe, Allen, Henderson. But plenty of good players none the less.

Henderson in place of Lucas. I reckon he could do a job there without committing as many silly fouls.

I'd probably still start with Enrique, I just feel he's more solid defensively. That team is very good though, harsh on Henderson who has been outstanding so far, but I imagine he'll come in and out as need.

I reckon that side has too many new faces at the back all at once. You need to phase them mofos in. This isn't Spurs!

But that side is good coz of the midfield. I've been wondering who we've got if Gerrard / Henderson / Lucas get injured... but if we're only playing 2 of the 3 then we've got someone on the bench.

Seriously though... Allen is always injured and not great either. So who comes in when Gerrard gets a knock? Or any of them? Have I forgotten someone?

I think Brendan will go for Johnson/Agger/Sakho/Enrique across the back. I wouldn't, fuck it, but I guess he will.

If Gerrard gets a knock I presume Allen comes in first choice, if he's broken, then Hendo.

It gives us the option of setting up our first eleven after which team we play. The spine obviously stay the same but we can change 2-3 players depending on who we are up against.
