The Mo Contract Saga

Heard he's an obsevant Muslim, so he'd have the full english breaky ..........minus the sausage, the bacon, and the black & white pudding. So not quite a full english.

Well, now we will know why if he doesn't accept the offer. Culturally insensitive as fuck me, with a phd in anthropology flmao

Ok - lets look at this deeply:

1) Milner - think he will break down every other game should he even last 90 minutes in any one game.
2) Ronaldo - yes he lasts but only because he is a goal-hanger and for the best part does fuck all in games other than be the point man to score when an opportunity arises. Overall his involvement in the game is minimal, and does not involve that much running - Mo is not that sort of player.
3) Lewandowski - the ultimate goal-hanger striker, yes can do the business, but we don't use such a player in our team anyway, we don't have the requirement. Mo is both an active wing forward and by chance has turned into our main goal-scorer.
4) Messi - declining even last season, don't expect much.
Mate I'm not sure you even watch football with those summaries.

Yes - I have a big problem in acknowledging the achievements of Ronaldo and Messi. Something about those two and the hype surrounding them does not sit right with me when I think about the previous generation of players. That said - the actual age of those players and their individual effectiveness during the course of 90 minutes does not warrant the money they are getting. Right now, Salah is considered to be a consistent threat with his pace and skills, in two years time that pace would have died down enough that I don't think he will be as effective as he is now. So no - we should not be paying him 500K a week, and we defo cannot afford that.

As excellent an element of a fried breakfast white pudding is, it is fairly exclusive to irish and does not feature in an English breakfast
Having Ilved in England for 13 yrs I do accept that white pudding is not the norm in a traditional full english, but I was suprised to learn having completed extensive research on the history of this delicacy that "White puddings were once also associated with south-western England: Taylor, in the 17th century, mentions "the white puddings of Somersetshire". Hog's pudding, still made in Somerset, Cornwall and Devon, is very similar to other white puddings although is somewhat more highly spiced." (I looked up wikipedia)

Yeah man, that garston one I was on about was quite spicy. My fave black pudding is the chili stuff too.

I think you are talking about black pudding, while shay & others are discussing white pudding. I'd be surprised if a Garston butcher sold white pudding.,,, but I stand to be corrected

Garston butcher's did an ace spicy white pudding when I was a kid. It had all red and green bits in, dunno what the herbs were and I think we moved from there when I was about 10, but it was one of my fave foods when I was a kid.

I am corrected.

I never even knew white pudding existed until I moved over here. I'm in Liverpool next week, so I may stake out Garston butchers.

On that topic - any spares for Palace? 🙂

Bad news on both fronts. A quick Google shows its permanently closed, and the new ticketing procedures at Liverpool make it pretty much impossible to sort tickets for people anymore. You need your phone and photo ID, they've changed it to make it impossible for touts, but it's balls because I used to be able to sort most of these requests out.

Really? That's a shame, I don't care about touts missing out but people passing on tickets to friends or family when they can't go is surely what a club should be about.

That was a video of a 12 year old in shorts, in slow motion, set to disturbingly romantic middle eastern music, and not a lot of goals to be honest.

Alas, despite what the title says it is not 'unseen footage', although it probably should be.

I completely forgot the Milan match is on Wednesday, when I arrive in town, and I can always get home cup tickets, so I'll go to that and if I get lucky for Palace its a bonus

Palace tickets were due to go on general sale, but it got suspended "due to reasons beyond our control" - any idea what that's about? Just as simple as they actually sold out without realising it?

It hasn't gotten alot of commentary bit 100 league goals for us is a fantastic achievement. That's pretty elite company, only 13 players in the clubs history have done it.

The fact that he did it in just 151 games is truly exceptional, eclipsing theall time greats of Hunt and Rush. He's one of the greatest to pull on a red jersey, hes already part of the pantheon of Liverpool greats. Enjoy him while he's here because he's a phenomenal player at the peak of his powers.

In terms of reacting to big money signings I've made at least two absolute howlers down the years. The first and still the biggest was thinking we'd been done when we signed the King to replace Keegan, but my initial Do Not Want on Mo Salah is a "worthy" companion to it. How wrong can one be? 😀

You're not alone there mate, he arrived to very little fanfare and much skepticism about a Seire A Chelsea reject. I think it's fair to say even those that were positive about signing him had no idea quite how good he was going to be.

Mohamed Salah scores for Liverpool ! Mohamed Salah always scores for Liverpool !

Says it all really. Magnificent.
