Oh behave 😉, Mane on his day is above Dirk and Beardo. Bless them but lad can do things on that left side with the ball against very top opposition which are just on a different scale.
Regarding others on the list, can’t really say as they played in a different era to when I started watching.
I don't think Kuyt belongs on that list and I love Dirk Kuyt.

Yea you’re right. I’m just a little pissed to see how much he’s dropped off.
Jota has 8 goals and Mane has 7 goals, and that's 3 and 4th best tallies in the league. I don't know if you can call that underperforming

Not sure why the author of the graph has left out Silva and Bruno Fernandez
No way is Mane "better" than Beardo overall. Out wide I'll give you, but elsewhere on the pitch - especially in or near a crowded penalty area - Beardo was more reliable and versatile.

Ok he was never technically the best but anyone who scores a hattrick against the scum is worthy on any list.
Watford's Emmanuel Dennis stands out on that list too. And I agree with @RedStar Mane is massively wasteful for all the chances he gets. That's frustrating, but I think though that his speed, aggression and awareness gets him in to those situations - more than any other replacement would. In other words, yeh he misses a ton of sitters but very few other players would be helping to manufacture that volume of chances.
Nah, not for me but by the time I was a supporter Beardsley was on his last season with us.
Mane’s stats alone are just something else versus Beardo in just goals alone in first four seasons alone, in the league it’s 63 versus 46 and cups 18 versus 11. Assists pretty similar.
I guess I will remember Mane more fondly for those massive live moments in so many critical games like that goal against Bayern away as I never really saw Beardo enough for us apart from old clips pre sky plus he didn’t get to play in Europe with us due to the ban.
I do remember that jinking run and goal for Newcastle in his first season back in PL though.

Yes I can agree with that. But the proof of the pudding is in goals and assists. I think he only has one assist so far this season (but is 3rd in the PL for goals scored) - the reason for that (IMO) is the variable quality of his passing/crossing. Mane, more than any other player in our squad, can go from the sublime to the ridiculous in the blink of an eye !
Goals are obv.important but not the only measure. We sold Beardo too early because he allegedly "didn't score enough" and Souness has since acknowledged that it was a mistake. Not only the front three but the whole team looked better balanced when he was in it, IMO of course.

Naïve OOTer that I was/am, I never realised those rumours were around. Mind you, the goals argument never did make sense to me. You live and learn, as they say.
Yeah, Beardo doesn't strike one as being a likely candidate, which makes it either a joke, or cast iron truth.
That was the rumour at the time but it seems mad implausible. There was others stuff that Beardsley's wife was a pain in the arse and they were neighbours and ended up falling out, but that doesn't explain why Souness sold him, as the fall out was meant to be with Dalglish.
