The goodbye thread

An utterly brilliant player, and a grafter. A very rare combination.
Pity he was a fucking nutter aswell. Ahh well, good luck suarez.

To say I'm sad is an understatement I really am fucking gutted, I've prepared myself ever since the biting incident but it still kills me. I've never had so much joy watching a player play for us he really was special! Wish him well at barca he will probably do wonders there. As for us onwards and upwards YNWA

talent wise - i think he is easily amongst the 3 best to ever wear the shirt ... a phenomenal talent ... it's odd, you lose a player like that and win the league next year? going to be fun next year.

Just remember that Ajax have won the league every year since Luis left.

The man is cursed. It was part of the price when he sold his soul for his diabolical skills.

Were those teeth part of the bargain?

Every defender & manager in the premier league that doesn't work for Liverpool just cracked a massive smile.

That's what pisses me off.

However, one thing this may do is enable to sterling to step up even further.

That lad could easily be the player of the season next season.

That, and Sturridge too. Sometimes moving a star creates the spaces and opportunities for other budding stars to shine. Going to be a big season for them next season. Can't wait to see how they respond.

I'm gonna say it, I'm gutted, I'm distraught even. Luis Suarez was a magical footballer, an absolute sensation, and after having one of the best seasons I've seen, he's leaving. No man is bigger than the club, true, but ability wise, the club is a lot smaller now he's gone.

He made the team last year, I know we won without him in the team, but when we won, and we won well, he was central, he was the glue that tied a very exciting attack and turned it into a lethal machine, he was our playmaker and best goal scorer. Even when he wasn't scoring, his ability, determination, leadership cannot be understated, whether he was making runs and drawing the defenders off, or peeling into the spaces in between, unsettling the opponents, he had a massive effect, his sheer presence made it so much easier for the rest of our attack to play, and it's also clear that he's had a huge influence on some of the youngsters, especially Raheem.

He was our team, I don't mean to say this to belittle our other players, but he made us tick, he made some very good players into a fantastic unit, and he played in a way that no one we've signed or have could even beginning to replicate. We have a very good team without him here, but with him here, we had a sensational team. Fuck knows how Brendan will change the team to work without him, that's his biggest challenge, I can't say I'm confident right now though.

There is no way I'm happy about this transfer, it's 100% shit, I don't want £75million quid, I want the best striker on the planet back in my team. Obviously I understand it was beyond our control, but I'm not going to be happy about it. To those who are saying good riddance because of his baggage, sorry I don't buy that. I don't watch premier league football because it's full of players with high moral standards, I watch it because it's the best football on the planet, if I wanted that I'd go and watch my local salvation army fund raiser.

Now that he doesn't have the ace up his sleeve, lets see if Brendan really is the manager we think he is.

He was a joy to watch , fully committed on the pitch , scored goals to get us back in the champs league and hasn't joined an english club like torres did but still for some reason (not just the obvious ) i hope he struggles there . fuck barcelona .

Talent wise I think he's the best ever to wear the shirt (at least for the time I've been following LFC).
Had we won the league last season or had he stayed and helped us win it next season, he'd surely assured his status as one of our 3 greatrst players ever.

he said all the thingsyou would expect him to say, club, city, fans etc. how much is the truth is for individuals to decide but one thing is certain and can never be changed. he was our player, and while he was, he was one of the greatest players in the world, and one of the best we ever had. just remember him for that

A real personality in an industry with lots of dull men. Able to bring great excitement and, equally, great disappointment. Thanks for the good times but I think now is the right time, for all, to move on. I have mixed feelings, sadness and relief. He's that sort of bloke though isn't he?

Yeah I'm a bit meh after Torres. I don't hate Suarez. In fact I wish him the best... just as long as it doesn't interfere with Liverpool.

Thanks Chewy.

yeah i guess that is the big pity , that he's not leaving off the back of a trophy when we can calmly say "thanks for everything " . We're still let with that frustration of wanting the title knowing we've lost a massive talent .

The club really need to make sure they get this transfer window right now , it's a massive challenge . I expect the serbian lad to be confirmed in a few hrs now to distract a little .
